Weekending
8/31/2015
Happy Monday loves! Can you believe today is the last day of August? Where did this month go? I was worried about Erika making landfall this week but it appears we got the worst of her over the weekend even though she's not even a tropical storm any more. You gotta love the unpredictability of hurricanes/tropical storms. You never really know what they're going to do until they're pretty much on top of you. Speaking of the weekend, linking up with my blogger bestie, Biana, for our weekend recap!
Friday night was extremely laid back for me. I made an amazing prosciutto pappardelle meal for dinner. I started to take pictures to post it as a recipe but just like every other time, I failed to take a picture of the finished product before devouring it so... maybe next time! Other than that, I curled up on the couch and enjoyed some relaxing time.
Saturday I woke up early (ok, I do that pretty much every day) and I'm glad I did. The weather was GORGEOUS! I woke up and took Novie outside and was pleasantly surprised to find the temperatures in he mid-70's and and not incredibly humid. Mid afternoon we headed downtown to do some tailgating for the Orlando City soccer game. I hadn't been to the new stadium (my alma mater, UCF, used to play in the same stadium YEARS ago) so it was cool to see how it had changed. Unfortunately we got a TON of rain so the game was delayed multiple times due to bad weather, the parking lot we parked in flooded pretty badly, and the winds were so bad that someone's tailgate tent went flying and of course smacked right into our car.
It wasn't the greatest game, but at least we didn't lose. We didn't win, but we didn't lose. We did however get 3 inches of rain and I left the stadium looking like a drowned rat and I'm pretty sure my sandals are ruined. Next time I'm breaking out the rain boots.

Sunday I did some grocery shopping and reading/movie watching since the weather was rainy all day. I am definitely ready for fall around here, this rain every day is getting pretty old. Not to mention I'd love some weather not in the upper 90's! We have our first home football game this Thursday so if it wants to cool off before then I wouldn't complain!
Hope everyone has a great week! I'll leave you with Taylor's new video because she's amazing and I'm obsessed with that song! Can we talk about how gorgeous she is with brown hair?!

So glad y'all didn't have to deal with much drama because of Erika. I was worried for my Florida friends this weekend! Woohoo for football this Thursday!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to hear that Erika wasn't a hurricane and just brought a bunch of rain - better than the hurricane madness!! What nail polish color are you wearing -the deep purple is so pretty!! Happy to hear you got a much deserved relaxing weekend - hope you have a great start to the week! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

I saw your Sunday morning photo and was like "Yes!!!" because that is the best Sunday plan :)
ReplyDeleteGlad that the storm wasn't bad (altho sorry you guys got more rain!!), and you still had a good weekend!
It makes me feel so much better about myself to know that other bloggers struggle in the same way I do - taking pictures of food. I have the thought usually before I eat something amazing {as in, before it's ready} and then after it's completely finished. Ugh! Your weekend looks fabulous. We've been enjoying cooler temps around here, too!
ReplyDeleteWe’ve had random afternoon downpours lately, but could probably use a full day of rain. Rainy Sunday’s are the best— the perfect excuse to curl up on the couch and relax!
ReplyDeleteI saw your snaps of the rivers you had after that game that is crazy!!!!! We had to go to Orlando to get coffee and then we tried one of those Magical Dining restaurants. We saw that radar and hightailed it right back home. Next time I will definitely coordinate better!
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's fun to have a rainy night in! Not so fun when you're at a soccer game! Can't wait for fall weather!

I've been wanting to check out an Orlando city game! Well maybe just the tailgating party since I'm not a big fan of soccer! Haha! That stinks it got delayed! The rain storms on Saturday were insane!

Glad you were able to enjoy some of the nice weather before the rain! Happy Monday! Xo, Stephanie
ReplyDeleteI was so relieved the storm ended up losing strength, but it sure made for some craptastic weather Saturday night. Yay for your first City game (so much fun!), but boo to the weather. I hope your car is ok after the tailgating tent hitting it!
ReplyDeleteCheers to a fabulous week <3
Sorry about the rain and the wind blowing your tent away! Boo. But other than that it sounds like you had a nice weekend. Your doggie is so cute too. :-) Have a great day today too!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a great weekend!!! We keep having all this rain as well, and fall layers sound amazing, but I'm still clinging on to every last second of summer. Nothing beats shorts weather! Have a great week!

Sorry to hear about the rain. I'm surprised they still played the game. Up here, they would have just called it. Watching a game in the rain is the worse.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree I'm ready for some cooler temps. I cannot wait to break out my sweaters. It's going to be hot and humid here all week so I will not be breaking them out this week. haha! Happy Monday!
I'm glad Big E didn't happen, but that stinks about getting caught in the rain like that! They need to make portable, foldable rain boats for Floridians!
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun at the soccer game minus the crazy rain!! Love the koozy! :)
ReplyDeleteLove reading weekend recap posts. Have a lovely day. xx

ReplyDeleteOur weekend revolved around rain today too. I had to come into work late because all of downtown flooded. It's a mess! Glad to hear Erika broke up before hitting Florida.

You guys are getting crazy amounts of rain this summer!! At least you got one morning of beautiful sunshine! And Taylor can do no wrong - she even looks fabulous as a brunette!
ReplyDeleteOkay, can we just discuss that T. Swift is the luckiest girl alive solely for the fact that she got to make out with Scott Eastwood? Ha! She does look gorgeous with brunette hair. Glad you had a good weekend lady - I'm with you about the rain, too!
ReplyDeleteoh that's a bummer the game got rained out!! Hope the tent didn't do any damage to your car. Taylor looks gorgeous with the dark hair!
ReplyDeleteBoo for all that rain! I hope your car is ok after the tent incident. Hopefully fall will be here soon and it won't bring hurricanes with it!
ReplyDeleteseeeriously why is Taylor so perfect?! that video. love it.
ReplyDeleteit rained the last soccer game we went to as well, so now i'm like 'nope you go have fun, i'm gonna stay in and watch romantic comedies' lol
Mmmm I love prosciutto!!! I do that so often too! Take pictures of an entire process only to forget the finish because I am way too excited to eat it! Sounds like you had a great weekend. It rained pretty much off and on all day here yesterday too. So ready for fall weather!!! And football!!!! I love that Taylor song, hope you have a great week!!
ReplyDeletesucks about all the rain!
ReplyDeleteI can't let another taylor swift song into my life. I'm already an under cover fan and I want to stay that way. LOL

So glad Erika lost its strength but a bummer it still rained a bunch! That's so crazy someone's tailgate tent crashed into your car! I love the new Taylor video!
ReplyDeleteThank god Erika lost strength. What a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteYes that video! I love T Swift's new video, watched it a billion times already.

Your Friday night sounds perfect! Too bad about the rain for the game – at least you had a few dry moments! Love that pup all cuddled up.
ReplyDeleteOh man that rain is no joke. I hope your car is ok!
ReplyDeleteI watched the T.Swift video yesterday and was legit thinking how smokin' she looks with dark hair! Now if only she would listen to you & I and take our advice and join the dark side ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd um, that dark purple nail polish...sorry, but it's pretty much all I see in this post. All the heart eye emojis for it!
Yay for no Erika!! Sounds like a fun weekend! And I agree although it's hot during the day, I can almost (key word - almost) feel that Fall breeze getting here.
ReplyDeleteReading and puppy snuggles are the BEST! :D
