Happy Friday eve lovelies! Lately I've been trying to add more pieces to my wardrobe that less trendy and more versatile and classic. As much as I love Forever 21, let's face it, I'm not 21 any more and I can't survive on a wardrobe full of it. One of the things I've really been trying to focus on is my jewelry collection. I love accessories and I'll spend a decent amount on purse, sunglasses, watches, shoes but usually my jewelry is on the cheaper side. Stella & Dot has become one of my favorite "mid-level" jewelry sources, especially after seeing Lisa R. rock it on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
If I'm totally MIA today I apologize in advance. I have no idea how crazy this whole getting Jimmy Fallon tickets thing is going to be so I might not have much access to my blog and e-mail until later!
Lately I've been loving pleated skirts. I love how flirty and fun they are so when I saw this one at H&M I just knew it was coming home with me. The light pink and blues are perfect for spring and summer and it perfectly pairs with a chambray shirt or just a cute tank top. I love how versatile chambray is! I originally tried this skirt on with a tank top and I loved how simple and cute it was but then when I got home I decided to try it with one (yes, I have multiple! You need to have light and dark... maybe even in between) of my chambray shirts. Immediately I was sold on the look and decided to wear it out. Of course for work I'd wear the shirt tucked in instead of tied up but I just couldn't resist tying it up and having a bit of fun with it! What's the point of fashion if you can't play around with your looks?

If you follow me on Instagram you already got a quick preview of this post since I wore this dress yesterday! I saw this dress on Sophie & Trey's Facebook page and I absolutely fell in love with it. The colors, the pattern, the structure... everything. Lately I've been obsessed with shift dresses. They're great for everything from work to going out and I love how they aren't super tight but tight enough to not get blown up by the wind. I feel like they really look great on any body type too! Don't even get me started on how much I love the colors in this dress... ugh! Perfect for Spring but can even be worn into Fall. Usually with it being Spring I would have paired this dress with a pair of either white or nude strappy sandals but I was feeling a bit rebellious yesterday so I decided to wear my Vince Camuto studded booties instead. With me feeling a bit under the weather this past weekend I wasn't really up for putting together outfits or doing pictures so I actually took these yesterday on my lunch break at work! Looking at the pictures now I probably would have chosen a different backdrop for them since the dress is already a bit busy and the green plants and flowers don't really help that cause any but I worked with what I had so you guys will just have to deal with it ;) Maybe in the future I'll do another shoot with this dress and choose a more simple, solid background.

For my night look I went for a more dramatic look. Since we all know my obsession with black and gold by now it's probably no surprise that I went with hints of gold to dress up this look. I added my gold mirrored belt, a gold clutch, added some jade drop earrings for a hint of color, and did my favorite go to hairstyle, the sock bun.
Which way do you like it styled better?
