Happy Tuesday loves! If any of you follow me on Snapchat {pamelanicole84} or Instagram {sequinsandseabreezes} you might have already seen this fun, oversized faux fur cape I wore while out in Albuquerque last month. Wow. I can't believe it's already been a month since I was out there! Obviously you could tell by the pictures I'm not in Florida when I took these although sometimes I wish it snowed in Florida!
This cape was surprisingly warm and I didn't even end up needing a jacket out while we were out exploring the snow in the mountains. The sweater part is a thicker material than an average sweater making it extremely cozy and the faux fur neckline was like wearing a scarf. The cape is one size fits all most so it was a bit longer on me than it'd probably be on most people since I am extremely short but I didn't mind the longer length. I kept the rest of my outfit pretty casual because we were out walking around all day and I didn't want to be too overdressed (I already was considering we visited a ski resort and almost everyone else was in ski bibs and snow boots!) but it was still fun to take some pictures in the snow since it's definitely not something I get to do every day. And a huge shout out to my mom who took these for me despite not knowing how to work my camera at all and for trying extra hard to find pretty backgrounds to use in the pictures!

Happy almost Friday loves! Sorry for my slow replies and absence the past few days, I'm finally feeling like a human being again so I'm ready for the weekend. I didn't step a single foot outside for two whole days this week so I'm hoping we have some nice weather this weekend that I can sit outside and enjoy. Speaking of nice weather, I got to experience some gorgeous fall/winter like temperatures while I was out in New Mexico visiting my parents a few weeks ago so I took full advantage while I was out there. Of course it's most likely the cause of why I got sick but I won't hold it against them.

One of the things I loved most about New Mexico was how sunny it was. Supposedly I live in the Sunshine State but even on it's sunniest day in Florida, I feel like it's not even half as bright as it was in New Mexico. These pictures were taken at about 4 pm and you can still see how crazy bright everything was. So I apologize that these are a little washed out, I had my white balance settings for Florida sun, not the crazy strong New Mexico sun. Now on to my outfit... I wore this outfit out to dinner my first night out there and I also wore it traveling all day. This striped jersey top is super comfy for traveling and everyday and you all know how much I love stripes! Then I  topped off my look with a faux fur vest since it was a little chilly, especially in the shade and my most comfy pair of booties since I knew I was going to be walking around! Happy Wednesday! At the risk of sounding like a broken record... I spent the weekend out exploring everything (well not everything, actually not even close to everything) New Mexico had to offer with my parents. I won't make this a super wordy post but I really wanted to share some of the pictures I took over the weekend so you could see the beauty that is New Mexico. A lot of people don't really think of New Mexico as a pretty state or one that has a lot to do, in fact I was one of those people before my parents moved out there, but they don't call it the Land of Enchantment for nothing!

Like I said, I'll spare you a ton of writing and just give you the basics of what I did while I was out there and leave you with these gorgeous pictures and a little bit of info: 

Balloon Fiesta Park: The Balloon Fiesta is held every October but no matter what time of year you go you can almost always see balloons over Albuquerque. They usually go up early in the morning however you can often see them late afternoon as well. Definitely a sight to see and even if you aren't going up you can still go down there and watch them launch which is impressive!

Old Town Albuquerque: Old Town is full of  restaurants, shops and museums perfect for walking around and grabbing a bite to eat all while experiencing a bit of historic charm.You can also find the San Felipe de Neri Church, the oldest building in the city, which was built in 1793 in Old Town.

Ski Santa Fe: There are numerous ski resorts in New Mexico (such as Taos, Angel Fire and even one in Albuquerque; Sandia Peak) but my parents took me up to one of their regular places, Ski Santa Fe. While I was there Ski Santa Fe had about a 40" base of snow and was sunny and in the 50's. Perfect skiing weather! The base elevation is 10,350 feet with 79 different runs ranging from easy to black diamond.


Bandelier National Monument: This is a 33k acre National Monument preserving the homes and territory of the Ancestral Puebloans. There are over 70 miles of hiking trails that take you around the property as well as to some cave dwellings that are dated to over 10,000 years old. I only got to scratch the surface of this amazing park but I definitely plan on bringing my hiking shoes next time I'm out there and exploring this area further!

I took off Wednesday because I was originally going to head out to Albuquerque then, but flights didn't work my way so instead I ran some errands and then headed over to Disney's Animal Kingdom for some animals and fun. After Animal Kingdom we headed over to Hollywood Studios for the Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights.

I ended up getting food poisoning and was up almost all night just in time for my 6 am flight Thursday. Luckily I made it out there with no problems other than my suitcase breaking. Once I got to Albuquerque my mom picked me up and we headed to my parents house to surprise my dad who had no clue I was coming. It was great to get to surprise him, I don't think I'll ever forget the look on his face!

Friday we headed up to Santa Fe where my parents go skiing every year. Yup, my parents are avid skiers! I have to admit they're pretty cool. It was the first time I had seen snow in about 10 years so I was pretty excited. 

After Santa Fe we headed back to Albuquerque and took the tram to the top of Sandia mountain which had gorgeous views but was downright frigid out! Before heading back down we stopped for some coffee with Bailey's and Frangelico to warm up.

Saturday we headed up to Bandelier which is a high national forest area with ancient cave dwellings. It was really fun getting to explore that area and see how people lived back then. Not to mention the canyon was gorgeous.

 After that we drove through a creepy little town called Los Alamos before heading to a place called Tent Rocks which was only 13 miles away technically but you had to drive 74 miles around to get to it. I felt awful because we had no clue it was that far away and I got kinda upset when I didn't think we'd make it but my dad is amazing and got us there with just enough time to explore a bit before the park closed.

Sunday I headed back bright and early, not quite ready to leave beautiful New Mexico but I know I will definitely be back! Sooner rather than later! Hope everyone has a fabulous week!
