Happy Friday babes! Man, this week definitely did not go the way I expected so I am beyond happy Friday is finally here and I can relax and recoup this weekend. My gym schedule got all thrown off thanks to an impromptu happy hour Wednesday night with a co-worker after a eventful and crazy day at work and thanks to said happy hour and the same events at work my sleep hasn't been the greatest so I'm really hoping to take this weekend to just get back on track and start next week fresh. Of course for me that includes plenty of reading at the pool. Since I spend so much time in the summer out at the pool (I assume I'm not the only one!) today I decided to share with you my favorite pool floats for summer.
Happy Monday friends! Another one bites the dust. I don't know about you but I like last week a LOT better. I was not ready for Monday to come so quickly this week. We need to make 3 day weekends the norm, I get so much more accomplished on a 3 day weekend. Please tell me I'm not the only one who feels that way?? Ok, enough whining, let's jump into my weekend recap with Biana!
Friday after work, Kerri and I headed over to a local hotel to participate in a NOH8 photo shoot taking place. If you aren't familiar with the NOH8 Campaign, it is a charitable organization whose mission is to promote marriage, gender and human equality. The campaign was created as photographic silent protest in direct response to the passage of Proposition 8. Photos feature people with duct tape
over their mouths, symbolizing their voices being silenced by Prop 8
and similar legislation around the world, with "NOH8" painted on one
cheek in protest. We weren't really what to expect but it was really fun and I'm glad we participated. I can't wait to get our pictures back! After the shoot we grabbed some drinks and our favorite loaded tots before heading home.
Saturday was a pretty chill day. We did some shopping in the morning then relaxed by the pool until the storms rolled in, then spent the evening playing cards and watching funny movies.
Sunday I woke up bright and early, made breakfast then headed up to the gym for a quick workout. After the gym and errands we headed back out to the pool for a bit more sun. We really didn't spend too much time out there either day because with the heat index it was around 110 so even in the water it was almost uncomfortable. I love Florida in every month except summer. It is downright brutal here from June to September. I'm talking, hard to breath, feels like your drowning it's so humid, brutal.
Have a fantastic week!
Happy Monday friends! The countdown is officially on. Yup, my vacation is officially THIS WEEK and I am so excited about it! So sorry in advance for the number of times I mention it this week but I don't take many vacations so when I do finally get one I get beyond super excited about it. Ok, enough with the vacation talk since it's still a few days away. Let's jump right in to my weekend recap with the lovely Biana, shall we?
Friday morning I woke up earlier than usual so I was pretty tired and ready to crash after work. I came home, made baked buffalo chicken tacos and watched The Detour before heading to bed. Nothing overly exciting which really isn't any surprise for me on Friday night!
Saturday morning I woke up early (as usual, why oh why can't I sleep in?!) and headed up to the gym. After the gym we headed out to the mall to do some shopping. This was the first time in forever I spent hours shopping and of course I failed to take a single picture but I did get some fun things for my trip!
After shopping and dealing with the crowds and long check out lines it was time for a drink and some sustenance so we headed up to WOB to get some beer and watch The Preakness. My horse won so I was super excited! Go Exaggerator!!
Sunday morning I ran some errands before heading over to Kerri's for some pool time. We're trying to get our base tans going so we don't turn into lobsters on our beach vacation not to mention a little relaxing by the pool is good for the soul. With champagne of course :)
After the pool we headed in, got cleaned up and then walked over to Santiago's Bodega for their happy hour. On Saturdays and Sundays they do brunch in the mornings and then half priced drinks and $5 tapas for happy hour, such a great deal! After some sangria, some tapas and a few rounds of Cards Against Humanity we called it a night.
Hope everyone has a fantastic week! I'll be sitting here anxiously awaiting Friday!
Happy Friday eve babes! I don't know about you but I am very much so ready for the weekend. We're supposed to have gorgeous weather this weekend so I'm already dreaming about lounging by the pool. One of my favorite things about the summer and bikini season is all the cute cover-ups that keep you cool but still looking cute when you're out beach or pool side. This crochet cover-up from Tobi is absolutely perfect!
The gauzy material is lightweight and comfortable and the crochet peek-a-boo cutouts are sexy without showing off too much. It's actually extremely versatile too! I threw on a pair of jean shorts, tucked in the front of the dress and wore it as a top to run some errands and you never would have guessed it was actually a dress that I wore lounging by the pool earlier!

Happy Humpday pretties! I don't know about where you are but it is officially summer here. Yesterday's high was 97 with a heat index of 101 with 77% humidity and looking at our forecast it doesn't look like it's going to get any cooler any time soon. You know when you head out the door at 6:30 am and it's already 80 degrees out that it's going to be a hot one. It's getting to the point where I'll be pretty much living at the pool on the weekends just to get to enjoy time in the sun but not melt. Here are a few things I'm lusting after this summer to have some fun in the sun!
{With our "masterpieces". Ignore my totally demonic looking eyes. I have the WORST red eye ever! And yes, Steph kicked my butt in painting.}
