Can you believe it's December already?!? I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving and if you went out for Black Friday I hope you had a successful trip! You are definitely way more brave than I am! I've actually never gone out for Black Friday but I've heard about how crazy it can be so I think I'll just avoid that whole scenario all together! Now it's time for the weekend recap with my girl Biana!
On Wednesday night a group of my friends did a little pub crawl around town and I decided to meet up with them at their last stop. Downtown was already decorated for Christmas and I loved it! Christmas lights are easily one of my favorite things about December, they make everything look so pretty and magical.
Thursday was Thanksgiving, obviously, and this year we kept it pretty low key. I failed on taking many pictures mainly because I was focused on the food but can you blame me?
We smoked our turkey this year and it turned out amazing! I'm definitely not complaining about the tons of leftovers we had and spent the majority of the weekend snacking on them. I swear the flavor got better each day.
Friday was the UCF vs USF rivalry game. I have a love/hate relationship with this game. It's so fun to attend because it's a rivalry but it can get pretty ugly. With the game being the day after Thanksgiving and at noon it definitely wasn't packed at all so we just decided to scalp tickets there. We ended up getting extremely lucky and meeting a guy with club passes so we got great seats with club access for really cheap.
I spent Saturday relaxing and watching the other rivalry games on tv and Sunday was pretty much spent the same way. Since every Saturday and Sunday is spent watching football I decided to do some random cleaning Sunday while jamming out to Taylor Swift. Nothing like cleaning before the holidays!
Seriously what a perfect weekend and your cheese plate looked amazing as did that turkey!! I'm glad your didn't mention the "other" rivalry game...can that just be done and over with already LOL!! Hope you have a wonderful Monday and get some shopping in!! xo
So excited the lights are up downtown, I haven't ventured down that way yet. I also totally forgot to take pics of the Thanksgiving feast, because once it was ready all I wanted to do was dig in :-P
Whoo hoo for cheap club seats, the best way to see a game!
Okay, I probably am totally out of the loops, but where do you girls find those cute quote images like the one at the beginning of your post?! I love them. Anyways, it sounds like you had a good weekend! Smoked turkey ... yum!
That smoked turkey sounds amazing! I definitely want to try that in the future. Sounds like you had fun watching the UCF game!! The Georgia-GA Tech game didn't go quite so well...pretty glad we didn't buy tickets and go to Athens to watch it!
Smoked turkey is delish!! We can't wait to get Eric a smoker/BBQ- I think a traeger has the combination? Anyway, Eric is looking into those and I can't wait for the amazing meals that will come from it! Sounds like a perfect weekend!!
wow, awesome seats! what a great idea, i have never done that before (scalp tickets). the turkey looks amazing, and you're right it definitely tastes better each day!
Looks like a good Thanksgiving. Cheese plates are my favorite appetizer for any holiday. We had a smoked turkey too (and a baked one and deep fried one.. too many thanksgivings). That was my request for my moms house, it is my favorite!
Sounds like you had a great Thanksgiving/weekend! I'm still in shock that it is December, but I'm completely excited for everything that comes with this month. I am sooo Football(ed) out after this weekend. I don't think we moved much from the couch on Saturday with all big games that were on.
Oh my Lord - your turkey looks amazing!!!! Nick wants a smoker for Christmas so I may have to get him one just so he can make me a turkey like that! YUM! So glad you had a good weekend :)
I can't stop saying this, but I can't believe it's already December either! It looks like you had a great weekend-- your smoked turkey looks delicious! I'm with you on loving all of the Christmas lights this time of the year-- so festive and pretty!
