Sequins and Sea Breezes: Weekending

Weekending

4/06/2015

Happy Monday loves! Hope everyone had an awesome weekend and an amazing Easter! I had a nice, relaxing weekend which was just what I needed. Although I definitely realized I need to get my butt back to the gym and start eating healthier ASAP. When I get winded walking around the block there's a problem! And I went shopping and I swear H&M sizing has scarred me for life, but more on that later. Linking up with my recently bronzed bloggy love Biana for our weekend recap... although I promise you hers is probably much more exciting!

Friday night I ended up working a bit late so I went home and just relaxed. Summer beers are back in stock so I picked up some Summer Shandy and hung out outside for a bit before playing Wii with the boys and heading to bed.

Saturday morning was absolutely gorgeous so I went down to the pool for a bit after downloading The Husband's Secret. I haven't gotten super far but it's pretty good. I have about 10 books I want to download so I need to start getting through these!

After laying out by the pool for a bit I went to the mall. Lately I haven't had too much success but this week I found some cute shorts at Hollister and then a fun top from H&M. Can we just talk about H&M sizing for a minute? I got two pairs of shorts at Hollister... both were a size 0 and they fit perfect. Then I go to H&M and try these shorts on and they're a size 6... and they were TIGHT. You can see the zipper pulling in the picture even. Does anyone else notice the H&M sizing seems to have no rhyme or reason or am I crazy??

After shopping it was time for drinks at Bahama Breeze. I haven't been there in awhile and man have they changed their menu! Why yes, there is a cute little lizard in my drink...

I swear I could sit outside on the patio at BB all day and listen to the guy playing the steel drums. It almost allows me to feel like I'm on vacation some place awesome instead of 15 minutes away from home.

Sunday was for relaxing, making brunch, and awesome Easter dinner and LOTS of giant Jenga and time outside.

And wine of course because why not? It was supposed to rain but the day ended up being gorgeous. It almost made me sad I didn't spend it at Wekiva or the beach but it was still an awesome weekend. I hope everyone has a fantastic week!

  2. I hate H&M sizing...practically why I never buy clothes there because 1. the lines to try on are outrageous and 2. I feel like i'm shopping for wedding dresses that dont come in normal sizes!! Sounds like you had the perfect Florida weekend - I love that picture of you enjoying a cocktail!!! Hope you have a great start to the week love! xo, Biana - BlovedBoston

  6. I've completely given up on regularly shopping at H&M because their sizing is so frustrating! Nothing fits the same either. I bet if you would have picked up a different pair it would have been completely different fit. That huge Jenga is awesome - so much fun!!

  7. Ooooh girl I feel your pain with H&M sizing, there is definitely no rhyme or reason to it which drives me nuts! You definitely have to try everything on, and pay no attention to the sizing. I think it's like "Whose Line is it Anyway"... in H&M the sizes are made up and the numbers don't matter ;-)

And YES to Bahama Breeze, it's been too long since I've relaxed on their patio with a drink listening to live Caribbean music. Have a fabulous week gurlie!

  8. I hate H&M sizings!! Sometimes all wear a two and sometimes I wear like an eight! It makes no sense! I was just there on Friday and almost tried on that top! But I thought the Fringe on the sleeves would get to me haha! Looks super cute on you though! Happy Monday!

  10. Such a fun, relaxing weekend! I totally agree with you on H&M sizing, it makes it impossible to order anything online because it's different for every piece. I love your chalkboard wine glasses!! Happy Monday! xo

  11. Look at you, little miss size zero! I typically stick to tops and dresses from H&M but based on what you said, I probably wear a size 16 or something in their pants. :) Glad you had a relaxing weekend!

  12. seriously H&M sizing is all over the place. I'm normally a size 6, so obviously those shorts wouldn't fit me - I'm normally a 8 or 10 or even 12 in H&M and in their dresses and tops sometimes I'm a large. and then a few months ago i ordered a large dress online and it was 3 times as big, i went to the store and i'm an XS in that dress. all over the place! in australia and the UK, the sizes are fine for me so i have no bloody idea lol.

  19. Sounds like it was a fab weekend. The sizing at H&M is all over the place and it's so frustrating. There sizing is totally not correct. Please don't let it upset you, you are a little bit of a thing. On a side note, I love the color of the polish on your toes. So fab!

  20. I love that the summer beers are back in stock! That's really the only time I enjoy some beer haha. Your Sunday activities sound fabulous!

  21. I don't even pay attention to sizes anymore because every store is so different. I have a pair of colored skinnies from Target that are a size 7 or 9 (can't remember) when I'm normally a size 2. The different brand's sizing can play such mind games that I just decided it's how they look on me that matters, not the number on the tag, ha! Sounds like a perfect weekend and so relaxing!!

  22. I've got to get back to eating healthy ASAP! the struggle is very real! And YES with the H&M sizing -- I'm always so many sizes larger there than anywhere else! It's so strange. Looks like you had a fab weekend!

  23. I wish I got some sunshine in this weekend. Hopefully soon. The sizing at H&M sounds totally wrong. I don't think I've ever bought pants from them but you should never be a 6. Happy Monday!

  24. I know it's not the same since you live there and all, but all your pool pictures are making me want to come live in Florida for a year round vacation! Glad you had a good weekend girl and don't get me started on H&M sizing. I usually give up when I shop there! haha

  34. H&M and I have never been friends! Summer Shandy is one of my faves, so refreshing in the Florida heat! I'm trying to soak it all up before it gets too hot to be outside here, I thinks we are not too far off!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I'm going to miss sipping a cocktail while laying out at the beach this summer! Guess it'll have to be some mocktails! Giant Jenga is always so much fun!

  36. Perfect weekend, girl! And I don't shop at H&M anymore because it deflated my ego too much. Also, I'm with you on working out. That pool scene is too relaxing! xo

  37. So I had a bad experience ordering from h&m online (I should have known, haha!), and then I annoyingly realized you can't return online orders in stores and you have to pay to ship everything back. But yes to their sizing-- it seems like some of their things are more European sizing, but others aren't? It's really weird, but I think the shorts look great on you and I looove that top! We went to Bahama Breeze when we were in Florida for a wedding a few months ago and it was really good- your drink looks delicious!

  40. You are so freakin' cute! H&M sizing gives me panic attacks to so many levels -- it would probably explain why I haven't gone shopping there in God knows how long. Also? The Husbands Secret -- AHMAZING. I hope you really enjoy it!

  41. That seriously sounds like a fabulous weekend. I can't even remember the last time I went shopping for myself, but I totally agree, H&Ms sizing is way off. Drives me crazy!
