Sequins and Sea Breezes: Weekending

Weekending

3/21/2016

Happy Monday friends! I don't know about you but I'm wishing it was still the weekend. There's never enough time to catch up on sleep during the weekends. And as some of you already know, I have some stomach issues which of course kept me up last night so it's going to be a multiple cups of coffee day for me! Linking up with my girl B for our weekend recap!

Friday was nice and relaxing. After going out for St. Patty's Day the day before I just decided to spend Friday hanging out with my pup and watching tv. It was so nice to get home and have some daylight still though!

Saturday I woke up, headed to the gym and then ran some errands. It started out as a gorgeous morning then quickly turned chilly and rainy so we didn't really want to do much. We ended up heading to a local brewery for some cards and some drinks before heading home for dinner and some movies. Has anyone seen Silent Hill? That movie is SO weird.

Sunday I woke up to a little bit of rain so I assumed like the day before it was going to be a gross day out but man was I wrong. Florida weather can be so crazy sometimes. We decided to head out to brunch before stopping and doing some pictures with Kate and then hitting up another local brewery. After two drinks we headed home for dinner which ended up being a smart idea since my stomach started to hurt then.

Which leads me to ask, does any one else have issues with digestion? I don't get sick after I eat all the time but occasionally my stomach will be so upset after I eat and it bothers me for hours. I've been debating on trying one of the tea detoxes to see if that helps but I'm willing to try anything. This week I've ordered some cold pressed juices and turmeric, ginger and lemon juice shots which are supposed to be good for your digestive track but if anyone else has these issues and has something that works for them, please share! I'm open to suggestions!

Hope everyone has an amazing week!

  3. Jealous you got in gym time.. I skipped that all weekend. I hope your stomach issues get better soon. I know some friends with some problems and I hate seeing them in pain.

  5. I have a ton of digestive issues and get upset at my stomach after I eat anything too fatty or dairy of any kind. I have to keep things very mild and bland otherwise I will definitely pay for it. I hope you have a great week!!

  6. I'm sorry that you weren't feeling well yesterday...do you notice a pattern with how it feels after you eat certain things. I'd hate to say it's a lactose or gluten thing, but you might be sensitive to it! I hope the juices work for you!! Have a great start to your week! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  7. I love trying local breweries! Sorry to hear about your stomach… I’m with Biana. Maybe it’s a sensitivity? I’d keep a journal of what you ate each time it hurts and see if anything correlates?

  8. ugh I get nasty belly aches sometimes too after eating. I have tried to pinpoint it to gluten, or sugar or dairy or something, but honestly I just feel like its random!? I had the same issue this weekend too. I even tried to do "paleo" for a week and I feel like I had mooooore belly problems! I hope you find something that helps, and let me know if you find anything good! Happy Monday!

  9. Is there certain foods that seem to bother it more than others? Dairy and wheat are the two biggest causes of GI upset, keep a food journal that is always a great start to figuring out what is the culprit.

  10. ah it looks like a good weekend! glad you got some time in the sun without the rain. relaxing friday night sounds awesome. and i need to head back to red cypress! the stomach stuff - you know i can relate! usually a doc will tell you to journal what you eat and see if there's any correlation to a certain thing like dairy or wheat. fingers crossed it's none of those! hope you're feeling ok this morn!

  16. Sounds like a fun weekend!! I'm so sorry about your stomach though!! :-( I agree with Amanda that certain foods could be triggering it. Sometimes mine bothers me if I eat something that I normally don't eat too. I hope that you are feeling better today though!!

  17. Besides the stomach issues, it sounds like a nice relaxing weekend! I have all sorts of stomach issues, mostly related to GERD, so I'm not sure if it is the same. BUT I take an acid reducer every morning and limit my dairy and acidic food intake and that helps a lot! I hope you start feeling better, I know how horrible it is when your stomach isn't on point!

  18. ugh well crohns totally sucks so i have stomach issues all the time :( i have to avoid a LOT of fatty foods. starting a food diary might help -- write down what you eat and how you feel afterwards, it's tedious but then you can track what hurts your stomach. xo jillian - cornflake dreams

  19. Sorry to hear that you weren't feeling well. You could have a gluten or dairy sensitivity. Try keeping a food log, I find that to be really helpful. I also found that taking a probiotic everyday seems to help. Hope you get it figured out soon.

  20. I'm a little weird on the digestive front as well -- it's hard for me to find a pattern but it's not unusual for me to feel bad after I eat. I am trying to stay away from gluten and dairy when I can!

  21. I have the same problem with my stomach sometimes :/. Unfortunately I don't have any real advice but I kept a food journal for awhile to figure out what was triggering it and to see if there were any patterns. Hope you feel better!!

  23. Sorry to hear you weren't feeling well! Hopefully the juices will help. I had the same problem and found out I had a slight gluten sensitivity. Thankfully it wasn't a full out allergy because I don't think I could survive without gluten haha! I just try to limit the amount and it seems to have been better. Hope you feel better!

  24. Hope you're feeling better!!! Have you ever had one of those tests to see if your body is intolerant to certain kinds of foods? My friend had that same issue and realized she was "allergic" to corn and now that she's mostly cut it out she doesn't have that problem anymore!

  25. Ugh I hope your feel better! I didn't get much sleep either bc Griffin was throwing up allllll night! Not sure if he has food poisoning or what bc he was perfectly fine until right before bed? Horrible! That brunch looks so yum!!

  26. Hey there, coming over from the link up! Your pup is adorable! Looks like you had a wonderful weekend!
I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. Have you noticed it happening when you eat certain foods? I hate to even say that it might be a gluten intolerance, but it might be something you look into. I recently started a semi-gluten-fee diet. (I'm not intolerant, but was told it would help with fertility and headaches.) Hope you figure it out soon and get to feeling better!

  27. oh no, sorry about your stomach! this might be tmi, but yeah i just to suffer from stomach aches and the like so bad that i'd have to lay down (or puke). when i went gluten free, it went away. when i eat gluten, it comes back lol. not saying you should go gluten free, definitely not, but it could be something your body just does not like. i hope the tea detox fixes it though!

  28. Oh no hope you're feeling much better! I have stomach problems too but doesn't sound exactly the same as yours. Have you had an upper endoscopy? That's what I eventually had to do to get the right medication for it but some tea might help too. Brunch looks yummy. Where did you go?

  29. Sounds like a fun and relaxing weekend! I hear you on digestive issues as I've been there, done that :( Mine ended up being gall stones a few years ago. I noticed my stomach would get upset after eating greasy foods. Definitely keep a food diary so you can pinpoint exactly what may be the trigger. And try peppermint tea as well as a daily probiotic. That may help too :)

  30. Aww your pup is so cute! Glad you had a good weekend, I hope you can figure out your stomach issues-- like a lot of other people have already said, maybe it's an intolerance to a certain type of food?

  31. I am so sorry you weren't feeling well! I'll be honest: as soon as I turned 30, I could not longer eat dairy. My body will just not tolerate it. I had 1/4 a cup of potato soup last week for a work luncheon and was SO SICK the rest of the day (and a day after). So I'm wondering if you have an intolerance to something? Dairy? Wheat? It's worth a shot to have some tests run- that's no way to live life, girl! Hope you're better today!

  32. I have the most sensitive stomach!! There are many triggers, but the best thing we've started to do is SMALLER meals. We usually split an entree - my tummy just can't handle the MASSIVE portions. It's too rich. Too much food. etc. I'd be curious to see if a detox tea helps at all. Report back!! 33. I have the worst stomach issues and they didn't show themselves until the last few years. I cut out gluten and it has helped me immensely!

  34. Good luck with your stomach, that does not sound fun at all. Only thing I've ever heard of related to that would be a certain food sensitivity. Can't wait to see your photos with Kate!

  36. I recently started having digestive issues. I thought at first it was my stomach ulcer that I developed years ago, but the more I took note of what I was eating I noticed certain things like dairy and sometimes wheat make me hurt REAL bad. I hope you feel better and figure it out!

  37. Sounds like a pretty perfect weekend (with the exception of the stomach issues - nothing worse)!!

  38. Look at that sweet puppy face! I kept a food journal after noticing digestive issues a little over a year ago and realized it was dairy to blame :( Hope that is not the case for you, but that you can figure out what is bugging you asap! xx

  39. I'm sorry that your stomach has been giving you so many issues lately! Hopefully the tea and juices that you ordered will help out! It sounds like you still had a great weekend, despite the rain and crazy Florida weather!

  41. Ugh, so sorry to hear about your stomach issues! I have some of my own and one thing that really helped was keeping a food journal for a while to keep track of what specifically bothered me. I've found that for me if I keep to more of a bland diet, I feel so much better!

  42. Sorry to hear about your digestive issues girl!! From what I know, turmeric is supposed to be really good for your stomach issues because it works as an anti-inflammatory. I agree with Katie about possibly doing a food journal! Hope this resolves itself soon girl!
