Easy Wine Slushie
6/02/2017
Happy Friday babes! I can't believe it's already June. Seriously, where did this year go? I don't know about anyone else but for us Floridians it felt like Memorial Day came and brought the hotter than Hades weather with it! It's been in the upper 90's with a bajillion percent humidity and no relief in sight. So in attempt to keep cool I've been scouring Pinterest to find frozen concoction recipes that can help me beat the heat. Last week I got a free bottle of red wine from work and as much as I wanted to go home and crack that baby open, it is SO far from red wine season that I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Fast forward a few days and I swear that wine was mocking me so I had to figure out a way to drink it and that's where this easy wine slushie comes in!
I really wanted something refreshing and easy to sip on the back porch so I decided to check out what I had on hand and go from there. What do you do with a bag of frozen strawberries, a bottle of red wine, some grenadine and a blender? Make a frozen wine slushie of course! Frozé is all the rage right now so I figured who says I can't make a wine slushie using something other than rosé? I was pleasantly surprised with how delicious the slushie turned out! The strawberries add just the right amount of tangy and the grenadine adds a bit of sweet without being over powering. Needless to say, I will definitely be making more of these since summer is here to stay!

I've never tried a wine slushie but this sounds delicious and so refreshing. Perfect summer poolside drink when otherwise I'd never drink wine by the pool.
