Sequins and Sea Breezes: Lilly for Target

Lilly for Target

4/23/2015

Happy Thursday dolls! Sorry I was MIA yesterday, I needed a bit of a break. Work has been super busy, I've had stuff to do after work every day this week and haven't gotten home until at least 8 pm and I pulled an idiot of the year award on Monday (we won't talk about what I did) but let's just say I ended up severely burning myself and really just needed to relax for a bit. Not to mention the pain meds I took completely zoned me out so it was just better for everyone that I stayed offline! But now it's time for my ONE item I got from the Lilly Pulitzer for Target collection. Which ironically enough is actually from the kids collection!I promise this will be my last time I talk about the Lilly collection!

So if you braved the crowds of crazy women on Sunday to attempt to get even a peek at the Lilly Pulitzer for Target collection you know it was a madhouse. I got to my Target before the store was supposed to open expecting there to be a crowd but nothing like what it actually was. To give you an idea, I went shopping for the Missoni collection around 11:30 am on the day it launched and found several things. I went shopping for the Peter Pilotto collection early afternoon and had plenty of things to choose from. The Lilly collection however, had a line around the building so I immediately knew I was in trouble. When they let us in it turned into a mad dash for the Lilly section which you could see from the door and I just knew it wasn't worth it so I headed to the kids section to see if I could find anything. A lot of it had been picked over but I saw this shirt and it was actually one of the items I had seen online and thought was really cute so I grabbed it and got out of there as quickly as possible! I didn't even try it on first, trust me ladies, it was a war zone! I was pleasantly surprised when the top fit, although I probably could have gotten away with a size smaller. This is definitely one of the "tamer" Lilly prints but I love the palm frond print and the cute pom poms on the sleeves. It's a great flowy top for those warm summer days for sure. Did you score anything in the Lilly collection?

  13. I was so disappointed when I got to my target at ten after eight and saw there was NOTHING left. I picked up the pineapple serving bowl and that was it. Target really did not handle this one well. The fact that they won't restock and that so much of it is ending up on ebay is just really upsetting.
Glad you at least managed to leave with something!

  34. No wonder I hadn't seen that top before!! I love that it's from the kids' section, but it's sooo cute. If you're looking for more Lilly, check back. I got a bathing suit cover-up yesterday that someone had returned. People bought tons and tons of stuff, and then went home to try it on and are returning it. I bet when people get their online orders, there will be a lot returned, too.

  43. Just saw this post! I hit up Target last Sunday too and it was indeed, madness. But you are so right: shopping kids items was an awesome secret to walking out of the store with successful purchases! You can check out my recap here if you'd like (we managed to do some damage by scoping out the dressing room discarded items): http://alyssawithana.blogspot.com/2015/04/weekend-recap-and-that-time-we-shopped.html
