Iconic Shoes That Never Go Out Of Style
8/19/2015
Trends come and go, in fact it was Karl Lagerfeld once said "Trendy is the last stage before tacky" but true style lasts forever. I've gone back and forth between loving trends and wanting to buy pieces that are timeless but the one thing I prefer to buy that is timeless is shoes. I love a good pair of shoes but I'd rather spend a little more and get a great pair of shoes than spend less and get a pair that will be no longer in style in a year or two. Here are a few shoes you can buy any time of the year and know they'll still be in style 10 years down the road because they truly are timeless.
1. The Christian Louboutin Pigalle Pumps. Whether you go for the black or the nude, these pumps have been around for 11 years now and are still very much so in style and don't look like they'll be going away any time soon.
2. The classic Converse Chuck Taylor All-Stars. This sneaker has been around since 1917 and has only had minor changes made to it since then. The beauty of Chuck Taylors is that they go with anything. From jeans and t-shirts, to dresses and even wedding gowns, Chucks definitely aren't going any where any time soon.
3. The Valentino Rockstud Collection. I blame bloggers for this one! This collection was introduced in 2010 and now consists of pumps, flats, bags, sandals and even boots. Yup, you read that correctly. The Rockstud Chelsea boot is already predicted to be one of the must-have fall staples.
4. Hunter Rain Boots. Yup, you can never go wrong with a pair of Hunter wellies! No matter what color you choose they are sure to brighten up a rainy/snowy day. They're perfect for any season and look cute with any outfit. Hunter's have been around for 150 years so have no fear, these aren't going any where!
5. The Classic Ballet Flat. These are arguably the most classic and comfy shoe style. Everyone from Audrey Hepburn to Blair Waldorf have been spotted wearing the classic ballet flat. Even Princess Kate rocks them from time to time. You really can't got wrong with a classic ballet flat with any outfit, during any season!

You've hit them all on the head, lady. I want to get one pair of CL's, but that's a big dream, haha. I love a good ballet flat, though, so classic.
ReplyDeleteI'll take one of each please! I completely agree with you on all of these fabulous shoe styles.

Well this makes me realize I need to step my shoe game up (pun intended) you and I are on the same wave length today with shoes :) I'll takes some Loubs but I'm scared to get them ruined!!! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteI am 100% on board with y ou and this post. All such GREAT choices! My only issue is the converse and my shoe size. I wear a 9 and I just don't feel like they look good when they're on me. Ha!
ReplyDeleteI'm on such a shoe kick recently and you and Biana are just doin' it to my wallet with all the fabulous shoes today!!
ReplyDeleteLove all of these! Unfortunately, I'm usually more of the practical shoe person because my feet kill in those super fancy shoes (I know...no pain no gain right? haha). But I love looking at these pretties!
ReplyDeleteYou should link up your post with Jessi and I today!
Twinsing today with B :-) This post makes me want to take over the second bedroom and make a shoe library like that first picture. You can never go wrong with any of those choices.
ReplyDeleteI am always a fan of ballet flats! Heels are dangerous with the kids lol. I would love a pair of Hunters. Are they good in the snow? You probably are not the person to ask. ;) lol xo
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted a pair of louboutins but just can't justify the price tag. Now chucks, chucks are in my price range and always cute! Haha
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with all of these! I especially wear my Chucks and Hunter boots all the time. Love the Blair Waldorf reference btw!

Great list. I'm slightly embarrassed as I have four out of the five of these shoes. Hard to believe but I do not own a pair of converse. They have always hurt my feet but I think they are so cute. My sister loves them but I could never find a pair that fit properly. I love my Loubies but to be honest, I hardly wear them. I don't want to ruin the bottoms. hahah
ReplyDeleteLove this! If only I could get myself to splurge on some Christian Louboutins! I heard they are actually super uncomfortable which would really make mad after spending all of that money haha!

I love this post. I need to get the "steals" of these classic shoes. although a splurge would be nice but the buyers remorse guilt is too real for me!

ah, look at the pic of my closet (I WISH!) yes, a hundred times yes to all of these.
ReplyDeleteI have a grey pair of Chuck Taylor's and I wear them a lot. I have a pair of Manolo's that are like 13 years old and I rarely wear them. Mostly because the tacks need to be fixed. LOVE those Valentino's, like need those... haha. Thanks for sharing and I hope that you have a great day! :-)
ReplyDeleteOut of all of these, I have ballet flats (though certainly no fancy expensive ones) and I really, really, really, really, REALLY want some Hunters. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteLove this list!!! Now if I could only have the closet in your first picture ... haha!
ReplyDeleteSomething must be in the air with all of the shoe posts today!! LOVING all of your finds! Sadly the only pair I own are the chuck taylors. The sparkle flats are really catching my eye right now! I've always wanted matching Hunters with Mia but I just can't justify the splurge while living in AZ! We'd NEVER wear them!
ReplyDeleteI'm tempted to save up for a big splurge on some Chanel flats. They are so perfect and classic. And I know I'd actaully wear them a lot.

My husband thought I was insane for spending $150 for rain boots, but Hunters really are the best! I've gotten so much wear out of them. Now I just need to start saving for the Loubs ;)
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree with the Louboutins and Hunter boots! I've gotten a ton of use out of my Hunters. I also love Jack Rogers!
ReplyDeleteJulia // Little Miss Haute Couture
oh wow, those studded heels are gorgeous and only $25 from Go Jane?! Definitely a steal! I'll also take a pair of the sparkly flats!
ReplyDeleteThe converse. Just yes. In pink please! Love the studded heels as well!
ReplyDeletei love my hunters + ballet flats :) xo jillian - cornflake dreams
ReplyDeleteThese are all great staples to have in your closet. I had to get rid of my Loubs post baby because my feet changed too much and they just became so uncomfortable so I rely on the occasional Dior splurge (for the bigger foot lol). I just need a pair of Rockstars to make my closet complete ;)
ReplyDeleteLove this post, girlfriend! I'm still lusting after a pair of Hunter boots, but I'm thinking maybe I'll just buy the Target ones and get the Hunter boot sock that folds over the top. Nobody will know the difference, right? ;)
ReplyDeleteYou are so right about all of those shoes! They are classic and timeless. I have some ballet flats and I have a few pairs of nude pumps/shoes....but I clearly need to get on board with the Hunters. And maybe the chucks too!
ReplyDeleteYes to all of these!

I love these and I wish I could say I owned at least one of them but I dont. Maybe one day I'll get some red bottoms. swoon! I love chucks, but I'm a size 10 and I just dont feel like I pull them off.
ReplyDeleteI 100% agree with you. Shoes and handbags I'm always willing to spend more on since they can last and be "instyle" for years and years. I'm so happy I bought a pair of BCBG studded pumps earlier this year! And one day I'll own a pair of Christina Louboutins!

If only I could afford those Valentino stilettos. Love my Hunters, Chucks and ballet flats for sure! You can just always wear them all!
ReplyDeleteLove this post! I want all of them! Haha. I think I will finally invest in Hunter boots this year-they make more sense to me in Chicago than Texas!
ReplyDeleteLove that both you and B had shoes on the brain today! You seriously can't go wrong with those Loubies or the Hunter rain boots (especially here right now!) I'm hoping to finally invest in some Louboutins in the near future, and I'll definitely be going for a classic nude or black pump.
ReplyDeleteI would so grab a Rockstud knockoff if I had smaller feet. Pointy toes sadly don't work on me. :( I love my red Hunters though!
ReplyDeletePerfect!! My hunter's are probably my most used shoe once the weather gets bad haha if it's even damp outside I wear them!
ReplyDeleteI agree with all of your picks! All very classic and stand the test of time.
ReplyDeleteYES to the Converse. Pete and his groomsmen are wearing them at the wedding! :)
ReplyDeleteYup- I'll take them ALL! Thanks for linking up today! xo
ReplyDeleteSo much easier to splurge when it's on the classic pieces!
ReplyDeleteI definitely want a pair of Louboutins -- and a classic pair at that!
ReplyDeletexo Southern Style
Love all your picks! I love my Chucks, they're the best! And I agree a nude or black classic pump will always be in style!
ReplyDeleteI love all your picks! I have a pair of Loubs and I'm obsessed. I also wear my Hunter wellies a lot! And I still don't have a pair of Chucks, but I think I need a pair! xo, Champagne&Suburbs
ReplyDeleteGreat selection each one is a classic!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing quite like a shoe that never goes out of style worth every penny paid for them.
A beautiful and perfect selection of classic shoes, loving each of the styles! Xo, Stephanie
