On The Grid

Happy Thursday lovelies! I am so happy it's almost the weekend! Do you ever have those moments where you're out shopping for something and you're on a mission to get everything you came in for and try really hard not to get distracted by other things but do anyway? That's exactly what happened to me with this dress. I stopped by Target on my lunch break last week to get stuff for tailgating on Saturday and I walked by this dress but ignored it and kept going until I walked by it again and then I finally stopped.
The funny part about this dress is that it's actually part of the Liz Lange Maternity line for Target.Yup, this dress is actually a maternity tunic and no this isn't my subtle way of letting you know I'm pregnant! Although I will say, it was interesting to go into the fitting room to try the dress on and have the fitting room attendant trying to find my non-existent bump. Lately I've been drawn to shirt dresses. I think I like them because they're timeless but still look cute to wear to work then out for dinner or drinks. They also tend to look great with heels, ballerina flats and even boots! As you all know, I'm loving plaid for the fall and I'm always a huge fan of classic black and white! {Side note: Speaking of plaid, has anyone seen the Adam Lippes for Target collection coming out on 9/27? Hello plaid heaven!} I actually wore this dress to work which is why I kept everything so simple (I threw on the hat for the pictures because it was in the backseat so why not?) and why my hair looks like it could use some life... but I love that you could easily throw on some fun colored heels or a bag to liven up the outfit. Hope everyone has a great Thursday, it's all down hill from here!

As a twice former pregnant lady, I can tell you the many benefits of maternity wear and why they still live in my closet ;) I literally cannot believe this is and you totally rocked it!!!

Umm I still wear maternity clothes, several of my maxi dress are maternity and I haven't been pregnant for well, a long time now. My cousin asked me the other day why more people don't consider wearing maternity because they are so comfy.

This looks great on you - your photos are gorgeous! I have been tempted more than once to buy something from the maternity section at Target, so you're definitely not alone. :)
ReplyDeleteYour dress is beautiful. I love grid prints and have bought several grid pieces in the last month or so. I love how you styled your look.
ReplyDeleteI love grid print and I'm loving all plaid for fall this year (I usually don't this much) but I have yet to find something that works for me! When you said this was from Target I was wondering how I hadn't seen it! I've seen a bunch of maternity clothes online that I'm like, "Uhh why don't they make this for non-preggos? Or can I just wear maternity clothes and not tell anyone?" so I'm glad to know that you've done this now! Haha.
ReplyDeleteLove the grid pattern!
