Sequins and Sea Breezes: Birthday Suit

Birthday Suit

7/01/2014

Some of you may remember my post a few weeks ago when I was trying to decide on a birthday dress. Well obviously as you can see from these pictures I went in an entirely different direction for my birthday outfit! I went through several changes on what I wanted to do for my birthday and then I finally decided that going out downtown just didn't sound as appealing so I figured I'd wait on getting one of those dresses for a different time and instead went on the hunt for something a bit more casual. I ended up finding this romper on a spur of the moment shopping trip and knew it was perfect for my birthday celebration. I feel like the low v-neck front with the lace is sexy without being too revealing and the open lace back is a perfect touch to the whole look. I decided to pair it with some simple gold jewelry and simple black heels. I was going to pair it with a statement necklace but I figured the neckline had enough going on with the lace and deep v that I didn't need to add anything else to draw attention to that area.

If you saw my post yesterday you know I ended up switching out the heels for wedges later that night. Funny story (or maybe not so funny) I ended up burning the bottoms of my feet walking around barefoot on the boat Saturday so wearing heels was just not comfortable so I ended up switching to wedges for dinner. Who would have thought you could burn the bottoms of your feet?!? I guess thats what happens when you get a pedicure and have all that nice soft skin touching something that's like 90 degrees! Oops!
