Since fall is quickly approaching (some places quicker than others) I've been starting to think of things I can add to my closet to help me make the transition. For us it slowly starts to get cooler, and by slowly I mean months down the road, but until then I don't want to fully dress like it's one season or the other. I love transitional pieces I can take from season to season and I really think transitioning pieces from summer to fall is one of the easiest trends. I love mixing shorts with booties and a fun summery dress with an oversized chunky (for me lightweight) sweater. 


Summer to Fall

For this look I decided to pair a summer white dress (I don't believe in the no white after Labor Day rule) and a chunky gray sweater. I love white and gray together but to richen up the look I decided to pair it with some unbelievably gorgeous cognac booties that need to get in my closet ASAP and some fun necklaces. I'm loving layered necklaces lately so bring on the layers for days with this look for that fun chunky look without wearing a single statement necklace. Of course no look is complete without the perfect bag to compliment it! I love deep rich colors for fall and winter so this jade bag is the perfect accessory and I can never say no to Essie Bahama Mama!

    I start weaving in more blazers, heavier fabrics, darker makeup/nail colors... Definitely feeling like fall in KC today, for sure! Highs in the 60s!

    I love those boots, I just tried some on at the rack and didn't get them, I swear I don't know how to pair them with anything. It just doesn't seem as stylish when I put them on, i think I"m just not used to the look.

    I love that turquoise necklace! I'm not the best at transitioning most things, I usually just wait for it to be cool enough to pull out my really chunky sweaters and things that you can't get away with during summer or warmer months.
