Happy last day of September! It's officially fall (can you believe it?) but it still feels like summer outside here in Florida but it feels like the Arctic Tundra in my office so dressing for the day can sometimes be a bit difficult. I want to dress like it's fall but I also don't want to pass out from heat exhaustion! One of my favorite summer to fall transition outfits is a lightweight sweater with a pair of shorts or a maxi skirt. I still get to feel like I'm dressed slightly for fall but I also don't sweat to death either. A definite win-win in my opinion!
If you read my blog post last Monday you might have noticed that I wore this outfit to brunch and it was the perfect brunch outfit. The sweater is lightweight and loose (so I can stuff my face of course) but still warm enough to keep me from freezing inside in the air-conditioning. To keep with my summer to fall transition, I paired it with a pair of denim shorts, and since we ended up moving outside I was definitely thankful for that. I guess I can't complain too much that it's almost October and I'm still sporting shorts but I do miss real fall. I'm one of those people that ALWAYS has cold feet so I can wear booties any time of the year and not be super hot so I topped off my look with a pair of comfy studded booties. I haven't figured out whether this is a blessing or a curse but I will tell you, it's hilarious when someone accidentally touches my poor freezing feet and gets quite the shock! What's your favorite summer to fall transition outfit? Is anyone else still experiencing summer heat or are we the only ones left?
You know I love shorts and long sleeve tops, so this is right up my alley! Add in the leopard and the booties, and this is just perfection!! Totally jealous of your chilly foot syndrome!
I always have cold feet too, so pssssst I keep a space heater under my desk. It also helps with it feeling like the tundra inside yet super hot outside ;-)
This time of year really can be so hard to dress... especially up here when it's in the 40's when you leave in the morning but almost 80 by the afternoon! Lots of layering going on!
Love the leopard & the booties! It's actually cooling down quite a bit here in NC and I seriously can't believe tomorrow is October (the most wonderful time of the year!!!) xoxo
I just brought in a chunky thick grandma type of sweater into my office because it's sub below zero and then I walk outside and it's 90 out......ughhhhh get it together FL!
Air conditioning and I have a love/hate relationship, I'm always freezing indoors during warm months. We are still having a random hot day but most days are cool now, yay! Hope you get some cooler weather soon:) loving this outfit, it's great for that in between weather!
So cute! Love the cut of that sweater! Isn't the air conditioned office the worst?!? It's like 110+ in the summer here, but our office feels like 40...I never know how to dress!
This is such a great transitional look! I love your slouchy animal print sweater! So cute!
