Happy Monday dolls! I'm finally back in Florida and getting a chance to relax after a crazy busy weekend! Apparently while I was in Mobile the weather in Florida decided to act more like fall so I've been loving the cooler temperatures and the clear blue skies but I heard it's supposed to go back up in the high 80's this week so it's looking like it's short lived. I can't believe it's already the last week of October too! Where did this month go? Well time to link up with the beautiful Biana for our last weekend recap of October!
My weekend technically started on Thursday when we started the 8 hour drive up to Mobile, Alabama. Being completely honest, I'm not the best road trip person. As much as I love traveling I hate the process of getting to my final destination, whether it be by plane, car or otherwise. We ended up getting to Mobile around 3 pm and it was a gorgeous day up there, unfortunately we didn't really get to enjoy it since we were up there for family obligations and not vacation.
On Friday before heading back (yes, we drove 8 hours up and 8 hours back in about 36 hours total) we decided to get lunch on the bay which had gorgeous views of the Gulf Coast.
I'm not really much of a seafood person so I went with chicken Alfredo and it was amazing. Downtown Mobile was definitely prettier than I thought it would be. I'm not sure if there's much to do there since we didn't get to explore much but the skyline was pretty and you can't beat the Gulf Coast views!
Saturday was of course dedicated to UCF football. Since it was our Homecoming game we had to do some tailgating before the game. We didn't get out there as early as we planned but given we had just got back to Florida like 10 hours earlier (if that) I was happy we got any tailgating in at all!
Got to see some of my favorite ladies tailgating and UCF actually didn't give me a heart attack and won with a decent margin. I always love when we wear the black jerseys too so it was a good day!
Sunday I got to spend relaxing and doing some blog stuff! Football started early Sunday, kick off for the first game was at 9:30 am from London! I missed most of the game to grab brunch but I'm not a huge fan of either team so skipping football for food is not a bad thing in my opinion.
While I know the trip to Mobile was not for pleasure - all your photos on Instagram were so pretty - especially of their downtown...who knew!! Glad to hear UCF won their homecoming game! Hope you have a great start to your week!! xo
Even though your trip was for family and not fun, you still took beautiful photos! And hopefully the fall weather will return and stick around soon! :)
glad you're home safe. mobile is tres pretty. i'll be over there next month. but road tripping alone. ew. and i think everyone and their brother was at the UCF game but me. ha. i should come with you sometime :) xo
That looks like a delicious way to enjoy a quick trip! I'm glad you got back and got to enjoy your weekend girl! Hope this is a great week for you! xoxoxo
My Brother and sister in law were at the London game! It was his 40th bday and his team playing so they went! Fun weekend and looks like great weather!
Wow that is alot of driving in 36 hours. I'm sure you are exhausted. Glad you made it back home safely. I totally would have taken brunch over football. Brunch is always fun. Happy Monday.
I love your passion and enthusiasm for football! My husband is the same way. Sundays are ALL about the Jets here in our house! Of course, I'm completely lost with it...oh well! Love your pics from your road trip. That chicken alfredo is making my mouth water!!
Sounds like a fun weekend, but boo on all the driving. I am not a very good road trip person, I'd rather fly but driving takes soooo long. That chicken alfredo looks delish - i love seafood but I love it in Sydney, haven't tried a lot here that is as good.
What a busy weekend! I'm sorry you weren't in Mobile for fun but that chicken alfredo does look pretty amazing! I'm curious, I know you love football but do you watch all of the games / as many as possible on Sunday or just stick to a few favorites?
I can't believe all the traveling you did in just 36 hours, what a rough trip. Sounds like the rest of the weekend was better and it's always good when your football team wins, so Congrats!
Omgsh I am with you--I am a terribly roadtripper--like backseat driver extraordinaire and I get all antsy and stir crazy ha! You go girl for making it!
I hear ya. I love traveling but get very antsy sitting in a car for too long. I don't think I could have done 8 there and 8 back in such a short period of time. I would go nuts. lol The UCF game looks like so much fun!
Yay for Homecoming football games! And we were up bright and early on Sunday morning to cheer on Detroit in London, too... so happy they pulled off that win!
I didn't know you were making a trip to Mobile!! I live an hour from there in Pensacola. I know that drive had to suck especially since it was such a quick trip! Glad you got to have fun at the UCF homecoming!
That chicken alfredo look insane! I'm happy you hada safe trip and were able to get back for the UCF game! I haven't been to an ECU game at home in years. xoxo
Ugh, that IS a lot of driving in such a short amount of time! You're a trooper! I've been thinking of you!! Hope you're doing better. Enjoy your fallish weather (it's currently 30 degrees outside...brrrr!) xoxo
So glad you had a good trip- that is a lot of driving in a short time, and I'm not always the best road trip person either so I know what you mean- but good thing you got back in time for the game!
Ok so I have to say it doesn't seem like the most relaxing weekend, BUT you got a lot in! And I would miss football for brunch any day of the week!! =)
