Happy Humday loves! I don't know if you watch Keeping Up With The Kardashians or not (yes, I know, judge away) but the title of my post is a quote from the intro to the first season and it's all I could think about when taking these pictures. There's a cold front moving in so it's a wee bit windy outside which is fun...when it's not blowing your hair all over the place! So with that being said, excuse my hair for the next two days! Ok, now on to the outfit!
It was Maggie from Polished Closets who first got me hooked on the window pane trend but it has definitely stuck with me since seeing her rock it. Now every piece I see I have to grab which is how I came upon this dress! It's not your typical window pane patter which is part of what I love about it but I also love that it's a sweater dress which makes it perfect for the fall/winter (at least here). I mean, does it get any better than the comfort of a cozy sweater but in dress form? I didn't think so. Ok, maybe yoga pants... but that's beside the point. I decided to break up the pattern a bit (and make it a bit more office appropriate) by throwing a cropped sweater over it, giving it the appearance of more of a skater skirt than a dress. I topped it off with my favorite heels and of course that red lip, classic thing that you like (sorry, had to slip in a Taylor Swift reference) and some layered necklaces. What do you think of the window pane print?
I love the window pane skirt - so pretty and yes so very office appropriate!! I love that you layered the necklaces and made them more chunky - such a fun look! xo, Biana - BlovedBoston
Beautiful!!! It's perfect (as usual!) I'm willing to bet your cold front is a little different than our cold front up here in Virginia lol--let's just say I wouldn't be able to be outside in a skirt...wind or no wind! lol Totally envious of your outfit, AND your weather :)
I did notice the wind has been getting a little cray-cray and I'm not liking how chilly it's been, but I keep reminding myself I could be somewhere with real cold and I feel better :-P
i need that dress in my life immediately if not sooner. i already have those shoes that already go with everything. and you know i love me some black and white anything! xo
Sooooo cute!! Love the dress layered with the sweater and the windowpane print! I know what you mean by the wind! I feel like every time I go to take pictures it's so windy like wth?!!
I knew just from reading your post title what TV show reference you were making, ha! I love this look - it's so great when you can throw a sweater over a dress to make it look like a skirt.
Love the cut and flare of that skirt! The pattern is fabulous. I am on a spending freeze right now because of my lack of closet space but that wouldn't take up too much room right? ;-)
absolutely adore this dress - love how you put the sweater over the top. man that dress is on super sale.... but i just can't justify it haha i did a bit of shopping yesterday and am over budget already. boo.
