Sequins and Sea Breezes: Weekending

Weekending

7/11/2016

Happy Monday friends! Another one bites the dust. I don't know about you but I like last week a LOT better. I was not ready for Monday to come so quickly this week. We need to make 3 day weekends the norm, I get so much more accomplished on a 3 day weekend. Please tell me I'm not the only one who feels that way?? Ok, enough whining, let's jump into my weekend recap with Biana!

Friday after work, Kerri and I headed over to a local hotel to participate in a NOH8 photo shoot taking place. If you aren't familiar with the NOH8 Campaign, it is a charitable organization whose mission is to promote marriage, gender and human equality. The campaign was created as photographic silent protest  in direct response to the passage of Proposition 8. Photos feature people  with duct tape over their mouths, symbolizing their voices being silenced by Prop 8 and similar legislation around the world, with "NOH8" painted on one cheek in protest. We weren't really what to expect but it was really fun and I'm glad we participated. I can't wait to get our pictures back! After the shoot we grabbed some drinks and our favorite loaded tots before heading home.

Saturday was a pretty chill day. We did some shopping in the morning then relaxed by the pool until the storms rolled in, then spent the evening playing cards and watching funny movies.

Sunday I woke up bright and early, made breakfast then headed up to the gym for a quick workout. After the gym and errands we headed back out to the pool for a bit more sun. We really didn't spend too much time out there either day because with the heat index it was around 110 so even in the water it was almost uncomfortable. I love Florida in every month except summer. It is downright brutal here from June to September. I'm talking, hard to breath, feels like your drowning it's so humid, brutal.

Have a fantastic week!

  3. I agree that the heat index has been unbearable recently. I'd say the pool sounds good but even that can't really cool you down. I wasn't aware of the NOH8 campaign but sounds like a great cause to support and super cute photo of the two of you.

  12. Those drink holders are so cute! The heat is ridiculous and I know it's even hotter and more humid where you are. The good/bad part of Summer is that it will be over before you know it!

  23. I would LOVE to have 3-day weekends be the norm, someone needs to make that happen!
Girl, we've been having similar weather here in Texas. It's rarely humid, but we've been having a lot of storms so it's SO hot, humid and overall yucky feeling. I'm sure it's not as humid as it is in Florida, but we aren't used to this...

  28. The heat and humidity really is terrible during the summer! I totally feel your pain from Texas because I feel like no matter what I do, I always feel like I've taken a shower after I've been outside for 10 minutes during the summer. And seriously, can we make 3 day weekends a thing! I feel like I need an extra day in there to get back on track after doing things during the week and weekend! I hope your week is off to a great start!

  29. Oh wow, 110 is way too hot for me! It was in the upper 90s here and I thought I was going to melt! At least you have those cute drink pool floaties...how fun are those?!

  40. I hope you were able to cool off a little bit while you were out by the pool! It's been brutally hot lately - I hope that things cool off over the next couple of weeks because this bride does not want a 100+ degree wedding day!
