Weekending
6/08/2015
Happy Monday lovelies! Just as a warning, this is going to be a very picture heavy post! Sorry, I'm not sorry. Kerri and I took about a thousand pictures at the concert on Friday night and I seriously can't choose just a few to put up so I'm just going to put up all my favorites. I had quite a busy weekend although I failed as a blogger and only took two pictures Saturday. Don't worry, I took enough Friday night to make up for it :) Linking up with the lovely Biana for my weekend recap!
So Friday after work I went to a concert (duh!) at House of Blues. Downtown Disney is currently under heavy construction so getting in was a bit of a pain but once I finally parked I ran over to HOB to meet Kerri to get our tickets and VIP passes.We got there around 4:30 but couldn't go in until 5:30 so we decided to grab a beer and wait in line. For awhile it was sunny and melt your face off hot and then this rolled in...
Fun times. We kept hoping it would blow over but no such luck! They ended up letting us on the porch at HOB to get out of the crazy storm which was pretty lucky since it got pretty bad! When they let us in for the VIP experience we got lucky again and ended up scoring front row spots! The VIP experience allowed us to get into the venue early and watch a private performance by Dashboard Confessional (which was a bit more like a sound check) and a Q&A session.
{Our selfie with Chris Carrabba}
Yeah, we totally had a moment while he was singing Dusk & Summer. I died. After the VIP performance we had to wait quite a bit before the actual concert. Augustana was supposed to be the opening act but "unforeseen circumstances" happened and they had to cancel. *Update* I just found out through social media that Augustana cancelled due to their bassist getting struck by lightning in the same storm Kerri and I got stuck in! Eek! Thoughts and prayers are with him and the band while he recovers. Then finally (after what seemed like FOREVER) Chris Carrabba came back out gave another awesome performance minus a few incidents with the guy who switches out his guitars in between songs. Not going to lie, Chris was being a bit of a jerk about it but I'm not an artist so who am I to judge?
Dashboard performed for a little over an hour and performed some of my favorite songs. I swear my heart melted when he performed Stolen. Yes ladies, Chris is just as hot in person as he is in pictures and videos. After Dashboard was done there was about a 30-45 minute break before Third Eye Blind came out. Kerri and I officially realized how old we are during this concert. It's crazy to think it's been almost 20 years since their first album came out and despite the fact I loved them back in the day, I wasn't sure what to expect at this concert.
They ended up playing an 18 song set, which was totally crazy! And I have to admit... they were amazing in concert! Like way better than I would have ever expected. Kerri and I may or may not have a bit of a crush on their drummer and bassist who happened to be in front of us the entire concert. Hello eye candy. We didn't end up getting done until after midnight, it was a looonnnggg day but totally worth it! Oh and did I mention Mr. Hot 3EB Bassist (Alex LeCavalier) liked my photo on Instagram and Mr Hot 3EB Drummer (Brad Hargreaves) favorited my tweet? I'm cool like that kids. Or they do it to everyone, who cares either way? :)
Saturday I ran some errands before heading to Tampa for one of my oldest friend's wedding. I'll keep the rest of this short and sweet since I've already written a novel but it's SO crazy to see someone you've known for 17 years grow up and get married. The two of us have been through so much together it's weird to think we're old enough to legally drink (because let's be real we still drank sitting in the hot tub at the Crowne Plaza on the beach back in high school!) and be married. I can remember our summer nights longboarding around like they were yesterday. Brad, so glad I got to celebrate with you and Nicole on your big day and wishing you all the best! And now just because I can... a blast from the past ;)
Sunday I pretty much ran errands and watched movies. Nothing overly exciting but I needed a day to unwind after my busy, late nights on Friday and Saturday. Hope everyone has a fabulous week!!

ReplyDeleteHope you're fully recovered from your weekend! :)
Ok so basically Chris is just as hot as he was when we were in high school and college!!! Unreal that you were so close and were able to score some amazing pictures!!! I'm loving the berry dress :) Glad you went with that option ;) Happy Monday love! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteyou looked absolutely gorgeous at the wedding! glad you had such a great time at the concert, what a bummer abut third eye blind! i saw one of my favourite bands ever when i was like 19, i had waited years because i had to be over 18 and they rarely came to Oz.. anyway, the lead singer was high as a kite and barely performed and it was miserable. it ruined my love for them lol.
ReplyDeleteAn 18 song set by Third Eye Blind... that must have been purely incredible! Sounds like the perfect yet ultra busy weekend. And those storms on Friday afternoon were seriously no joke! It took foreverrrr to get home :-P
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous week <3
Such a great weekend!! I can't believe how close you were! Even if you feel old, the best part about being 30 and going to concerts is that you can afford the really good seats ;)
