Happy humpday loves! Can you believe tomorrow is the last day of summer? In some ways I feel like this summer absolutely flew by and in others I feel like my birthday was ages ago. Being up in Cincinnati a few weeks ago I really got to experience my first taste of potential fall weather. Don't get me wrong, it was nice and hot during the day but it got a bit cooler towards the evenings and down by the water so I got to break out one of my favorite summer to fall trends, a tank and shorts with a flannel button up. 

I'm all about the flannel in the cooler months. Whether it be with shorts, a dress or even just jeans, there's something about a soft and cozy flannel that just makes me happy. I tend to go for the oversized ones that I can layer over a t-shirt or tank, tie up in the front or just lounge around in. I ended up wearing this outfit out exploring early on morning in Cincy when it was still a bit on the cooler side out but ended up warming up. It was the perfect outfit to wear out exploring and hitting up brunch and some local breweries. I don't know about anyone else but I can't wait for cooler temperatures and more fall flannels!

Oh Monday. Not again. Didn't you get the memo I wasn't ready for you yet? Oh well. I guess that's the thing with time, it never really does ever work in your favor, does it? Speaking of how quickly time goes, I had a chance to spend a few very quick days in my former hometown two weeks ago and while I was there I got a chance to check out some of the local breweries. I know a lot of my readers aren't really beer drinkers but being in the industry I'm in I've definitely really learned to appreciate the art of craft beer so I love getting to check out different place's local breweries. Since I moved away from Cincinnati before I was able to drink, I never got to check them out then so it was fun going back and checking them out now.
The brewery district in Cincinnati is pretty unique in the fact it dates all the way back to 1895 in an area called Over-The-Rhine, or OTR to locals. No, I didn't have a dyslexic moment, there were actually 38 different breweries in the district at the turn of the 19th century. Unfortunately prohibition in the 1920's brought an end to many of these breweries but recently with the craft beer boom, many of these buildings are becoming operational again. I'm a huge architectural fan so I found the history of these buildings to be extremely interesting but I'm sure you all are bored with the history lesson so let's get into the good stuff, shall we?
The first brewery I visited on my trip was Rhinegeist Brewery (which translates to Ghost of the Rhine/River) which is actually located in what used to be another local brewery's bottling plant, Moerlein Brewing. Moerlein owned the building in the late 1800's until prohibition when the plant had to shut down. The taproom is located on the top floor of the building and also has a small rooftop bar area. The taproom area is huge with lots of things to do like indoor cornhole, ping pong tables as well as other games. I only tried one beer, the Cougar Blonde Ale, but I was extremely intrigued by the Bubbles Pale Ale which was a  Rosé Ale made with apple, peach and cranberry. I mean, how amazing does that sound?

Happy Friday dolls! It's been a hot minute since I posted on a Friday, I know. I'm hoping now that summer is coming to an end I can start getting back into my regularly scheduled blogging but I make no guarantees. It's not that I don't enjoy blogging any more. I just haven't been shopping as much as I used to, I've been trying to enjoy living in the moment more and let's be real, doing blog photos in Florida, in the summer, in the 97 degree heat with 95% humidity is a real pain. But with fall approaching and hopefully cooler or at least less humid weather (and fall being my favorite time of the year) I'm hoping I'll be a bit more inspired and less miserable when taking pictures! Especially since I love fall fashion which is exactly what today's blog post is all about. Today I'm sharing some of my favorite summer to fall pieces.

Happy Humpday friends! Does it seem as crazy to any one else that we are more than half way through August already and less than a month away from fall? July and August are by far the hottest months here so I'm definitely ready for September and hopefully a bit cooler weather. Not to mention a little less humidity so my hair will actually do what it's supposed to and not look all crazy all the time.
It's no secret that usually I'm a bit too self-conscious to wear crop tops but when I saw this flowy, off the shoulder one I just had to give it a go. In all reality, it isn't as short as it seems in some of these pictures, especially since I'm wearing boyfriend shorts that are a size too big for me so they sit incredibly low, so when I tried it on I wasn't as immediately nervous about it as I am some crop tops. In fact, I wore it with jeans a few weeks ago and you could barely even see a sliver of my stomach and it's nice and flowy which you all know is my favorite! This will definitely be a top I take into the Florida fall weather, I can't wait to wear it with a pair of black destroyed jeans and some booties maybe even a floppy hat... seriously cooler weather, I'm ready for you! I always feel bad saying I'm ready for cooler temps when I know my friends up north will be freezing in a few months but since we've been in summer for at least 4 months already I can't help but crave that first crisp, cooler day.

Happy halfway day babes! I have to admit, I'm a sucker for the classics so when I saw this top a few weeks ago I knew I had to scoop it up despite the fact it's still pretty dang hot out here. I mean, can you ever really go wrong with a cute white button up? I didn't think so. It's very Audrey Hepburn and in my mind Audrey can do no wrong. Her style was so effortless and chic so how can you not admire it? Which brings me back to this shirt... and our humidity. Can we talk about how ridiculous my hair looks for a minute? Yeah, thanks 84 degrees with 96% humidity at 9 am.
Alright, enough whining, I knew what I was getting into when I moved to Florida. Now I just need to suck it up for a few more months. Luckily this shirt is light enough that I can get away with wearing it out on cloudy/cooler days or inside and not be too hot. Now on to the jeans, guys. These are the best jeans. Being as tiny as I am, I have the HARDEST time finding jeans and I rarely stray from my go-to's of American Eagle or Blank NYC (or if I'm being completely honest, I own several pairs of kid's 7 For All Mankind jeans as well) but lately I've been on a huge Free People kick so when I saw these jeans I decided "why not?" and I ordered them. Since then I've ordered the exact same jeans in a darker denim as well as black and being completely honest when I say, I LOVE them. They are several inches too long for me but mi amor, Kerri, taught me the trick of just cutting the hems to shorten them and now they're perfect!
Just as an FYI, this will be my last post for the week and I may be a bit absent from the blogging world as I'm heading back home to Ohio for a few days to take care of some things but I'll be back bright and early Monday morning! Hope everyone has a fantastic rest of the week and weekend!
