Happy Wednesday loves! Hope everyone is having a fantastic week so far! I don't get to get dressed up very often but I love getting to put on a gown, and get fancy every once in awhile, I mean, doesn't every girl? Luckily once a year I get to attend a gala through my work and entertain my need to play dress up. Similar to last year, I waited until almost the last possible second to find a dress and luckily Lulu's came through for me again! Only this year I did manage to get it with enough time to get it altered so I wasn't tripping all night!

Blue is my favorite color so when I saw this dress I knew instantly it was perfect for the gala.

I was definitely a bit worried that the material of the dress would wrinkle badly sitting in the car on the ride there, especially since the location of the gala was about 45 minutes away from my house. Luckily it didn't wrinkle too badly but as you can see from the pictures, it definitely did wrinkle a bit but I didn't think it was too bad.  I was definitely impressed with how comfortable this dress was. The material was soft and flowy and the halter neckline made it so I didn't have to worry about tugging at the top all night. It was definitely the perfect dress to dance the night away, which I did! For those of you who know me personally, you know I'm not really a fan of staying out late, I prefer to be home and in my pajamas by like 8 pm but this was the one night that I stayed out way past my bedtime. I'm surprised I didn't turn into a pumpkin!

Happy Tuesday lovelies! Hope everyone's week is off to an awesome start! Some of you may have already seen that over the weekend I attended a gala that was kinda for work, kinda not. The event was the UCP of Central Florida Gala at the Palace which benefits children with cerebral palsy. The company I work for holds the UCP of Central Florida very near and dear so I was honored when I received the invite to attend the gala. On top of having an excuse to get all dressed up it's for a great cause and one I was extremely happy to support.

Of course like most girls, I immediately started thinking about what I was going to wear. Sadly outside of a few bridesmaid dresses I really didn't have much in the way of "formal" wear so I started my hunt for the perfect dress. I couldn't find anything in stores, every thing was either too prom-y or too expensive so I gave up the hunt for awhile. About a week before the event I was reminded about it and realized I needed to jump back in my search. There were a few cute dresses on Rent the Runway I was interested in but of course waiting so last minute most were booked the weekend I needed them so I started my hunt online when I came across this dress. I've been told in the past that red is my "color" so I scooped up this one and crossed my fingers it would fit. I got the dress 2 days... yup nothing like last minute, before the gala and while it fit like a glove everywhere it was WAY too long. I took pictures in it and sent it to a few friends and my mom and asked if they thought it was too long and everyone said "well it won't be when you put on heels" umm... I'm wearing 5 inch heels in the picture... LOL. So after some back and forth  and some serious internal debate I decided to just suck it up, wear the tallest heels I owned and rock it. So here we are! Moral of the story; short people problems are a real thing haha! 

I didn't want to be too overdone for the event so I kept my jewelry fairly basic opting for some suspended ivory pearl drop earrings and some dainty bracelets and topped off my look with a fun leopard Clare V. clutch (thanks Ker!).
