Happy Tuesday loves! I posted about this gorgeous BB Dakota leather shift dress a few Friday Favorites ago and I'm so happy I decided to get it. I've been on the hunt for a good leather shift dress for awhile now and just haven't found one I really liked so when I saw this one it was exactly what I was looking for but I was hesitant to buy it online without trying it on. Since I already own a few BB Dakota things I figured why not just go for it and hope for the best?
It's finally warm again here in Florida, and by warm I mean mid 80's so I guess that could be considered hot to some people, but I decided to take advantage of the nice weather. I got this dress a few weeks ago from Tobi when they were having their 50% off sale and I couldn't decide between this one and another one but with the help and advice from some work colleagues I decided on this one because it was the more versatile of the two. As I'm sure you're already aware, I love anything leather so I love the touch of leather on the straps of this high-low shift dress. And everyone was right, it is definitely versatile! For this look I decided to make it a little more structured by adding a skinny leopard print belt and I made it a little more dressy by throwing on strappy heels and a pair of dangly earrings. I really love the all black look (hello Audrey Hepburn!) and then just adding a subtle pop of color or mixed print. After seeing these pictures I loved how my nail polish really stood out against the dress (even though I totally didn't do that on purpose)! This dress could easily be made casual by throwing on a jean jacket and a pair of gladiator sandals and skipping the belt as well! What do you think, do you prefer to dress up a shift dress or wear it casual?
