I mean seriously, is there anything better than beer and bacon? Well this weekend I got to combine the best of both worlds at the 4th Annual Bacon Beer Bash at Intracoastal Brewing Company in Melbourne, FL. Intracoastal Brewing is one of my favorite breweries in Central Florida, not just because I happen to be good friends with one of the owners, but because they have some of the best craft beers I've ever had. I love that Intracoastal isn't afraid to think outside the box and really go for it with their beers and the Bacon Beer Bash is a perfect example of that.
From brews like the "Elvis Bacon Hefe" which combines peanut butter, bacon and banana in an easy to drink hefeweizen to the "Dad Made Breakfast", a slightly higher ABV Coffee Maple Bacon Blonde Stout, which tastes just as amazing as it sounds, they truly have fun with the beers they put out. This year for the Bacon Beer Bash they had 5 different brews made with real bacon; Maple Bacon, Chocolate Bacon, Elvis Bacon, Black Pepper Bacon and the Dad Made Breakfast Bacon Stout. In addition to the specialty brews they also had a food truck, Double D's BBQ and the Sugar Shack donut stand serving up delicious donuts made with bacon! It couldn't have been a more perfect day for the bash, especially considering all the rain we've gotten recently but it was a bright and sunny... and hot! Recently Intracoastal Brewing expanded and now has two buildings, both which were able to serve beer and keep the lines nice and short. The expansion also means they're able to brew more and start bottling and canning their own stuff! I'm already looking forward to next year's Bacon Beer Bash but luckily Intracoastal has another event coming up in October to keep the beer lover in me satisfied. See you soon Rocky Water Brew Fest!
