Sequins and Sea Breezes: Confessions

Confessions

1/06/2016

Happy Humpday loves! I haven't done one of these in a really long time and I started writing this post like a month or two ago and never finished it. I've been adding to it little by little until finally I figured, might as well get some things off my chest, right? And seriously though, sometimes you just need some quality fake powder cheese. Don't hate.

// It makes me stabby when people link up with someone about something completely off topic in link ups just to get the traffic spike. It makes me want to go to their blog and just write "you're a douche" and move on.
// The first time I ever got truly drunk was my college graduation weekend. I'm pretty sure I don't handle my alcohol nearly as well as I did back then.
// Speaking of alcohol, I don't have a sip of alcohol (unless I have a pre-planned happy hour) except on Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday. I try to not drink more than 2 days a week but I'm finding that usually ends up badly for me.
// Since starting my new job I've gained 7 lbs (for those counting, that's 7 lbs in less than a year) and I'm not happy about it at all.

// I sometimes go to bed at 9 pm. Getting up at 5:30 am every day is rough and when I'm gone for around 11 hours a day sometimes all I want to do is go home and sleep.
// I hate going shopping at the mall. I would rather online shop any day of the week.

// I had a frame sitting on my desk at work with no picture in it for like 3 months. My boss came in and put a picture of his dogs in the frame after I left work one day. A co-worker mentioned it one day and I was like "huh, wonder how long that's been like that...." Clearly I'm not overly observant.
// It drives me insane when blogger buy their followers and try to pretend like they blew up overnight. We can all tell you bought followers... you aren't fooling any one.
// I love having the ability to ride the train instead of drive an hour (or more) to work every day but I HATE when people are stupid and either try to beat the train or stop at a red light/backed up traffic and end up getting stuck on the tracks. Dear drivers, when you're on the tracks we can't go around you and we can't stop as quickly as you might think so yes, we are going to hit you and yes, it is your fault. Thank you for making my ride home an extra few hours so you could try and save a minute and 30 seconds off your drive time. And yes, this happens WAY more than you'd think in FL.
// I have the best job, I really do love it but sometimes I have to deal with the stupidest people.

And while I'm sure I could keep going I'm just going to go ahead and stop before someone hates me ;)

  1. Kraft Mac and Cheese is my guilty pleasure so I love that first picture!

I also don't really drink.. Only here and there on the weekend. And I'm a 5:30am riser so I'm usually in bed really early too!

  3. Yay for confessions!! Oye the linkup stuff drives me insane...not nice and the buying followers or the robot likes - not cool at all!!! Since I commute on the train I so feel you on the weird people - thankfully our train doesnt really involve cars TOO often but you'd be surprised how many people think they can out drive a train lol! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  5. These are great--I feel you on the early bed times, and being annoyed at bloggers for linking up about stuff that has no relevance. It's super annoying! Sorry you got stuck on the train the other day--I saw that headache and felt for you. People can be extra stupid sometimes. If it makes you feel any better, I deal with stupid people at my job, too....theyre everywhere!! :)

  6. Dealing with stupid people is an everyday thing, no matter what job. Lol. Although I'd rather deal with stupid people than douche bags any day. They make better confessions and laughs!

  7. Haha I always love these posts! I wish I could get to bed by 9 pm even once a week. Also, not down with bloggers buying followers… so not authentic.

  8. Hahaha I love this post and totally agree with you on all of these! Except you can't really drive on the train tracks in NJ, but you have to be completely moronic to do that! I mean, don't buy followers, and link up about the topic! People!

  9. My last job made me gain 10 pounds and I am still recovering! AND I'm totally on the same page--I absolutely HATE going to the mall now. Ordering online is such a godsend. These all made me laugh!

  10. Fake mac and cheese is the best, I hear you lady! And I'm all about sleep too, getting up that early is rough rough rough!

And bloggers that don't link up correctly drive me batty too. I used to know someone like that, she had complete disregard for the rules, with?

  22. Kraft mac and cheese is never wrong! I have no idea how you wake up at 5:30am. I'd be going to bed before the sun set if I had to get up that early.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I am SO with you about the link ups - when I hosted Wedding Wednesday, that used to piss me off sooo much! I love the one about the photo of your boss's dogs, too. Kind of related, but an icon disappeared from my husband's home screen on his phone and NEITHER of us can figure out what was there... not too observant here either!

  24. I loooove confession posts. I can't stand the linkup thing, I see people's posts and think "do you really think you're getting ahead?!" That's also hilarious about the picture thing, that actually made me LOL. Happy Humpday!

  25. I try to only drink on the weekends too and I swear I have ZERO tolerance because of it! And we always have a box of kraft mac n' cheese in the pantry - it's the ultimate comfort food, no shame in that.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Ok I agree with allllll of this *cheers*! Especially the bloggers who link up about something completely irrelevant to the link up (Emily and I used to have people link up outfit posts or weekend recaps to our recipe swap..) and bloggers buying followers. So not cool and it just makes you look like a sell out - double boo! And yessss to all the mac and cheese and online shopping <3

  27. Oh girl... my vendors all sent me chocolate towers for Christmas- I gained like 5lb in a month!! Hello gym all day err day! :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Yup we get those bloggers that link up their fashion posts to our travel linkups...it's like really? I usually try to delete them if I catch them in time because wtf?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Bahaha! Love these! I've been brainstorming some items to do a confessions session too... eating a box of mac and cheese (as I just did for lunch) is totally on my list! Lol

    ReplyDelete
  30. Nothing better than a good confessions post! I'm with you about going to bed early - especially on days that I do a hard workout, I'm exhausted by like 7 p.m.!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hahaha love love that photo about mac&cheese, definitely me!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Haha, I love these! Confession posts are so fun to read. I didn't know there was an age limit to mac & cheese?!! Who would even say such a thing lol. And yes! I hate when people link up just for added traffic - so selfish!

    ReplyDelete
  33. haha yes to the first one. i so agree. don't be a douche!
i go to sleep most nights at 9pm too. i feel you! no shame.
can't believe people buy followers. that's ridiculous.
the train thing! i am so good with trains, i'd rather wait than endanger myself lol but KC is one of those idiots (love him) that tries to beat it even when the things (what are they called? they make noise and come down to block people crossing) are coming down and it drives me nuts (and scares the crap out of me). we've never gotten stuck though. thank goodness.
anyway. now i want mac n cheese! noooooooooooooooooooooo.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Ohhh give me all the mac n cheese. I love the shapes the most. You can bet I am picking up whatever cool cartoon they are making shapes of out these days. Such a comfort food!

    ReplyDelete
  35. There is never an age limit on Mac & Cheese so eat your heart away girl! You can buy followers?!? I totally feel ya on the job front, I loooove my job, but there's one person who I just question their intellegence one too many times a day lol!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Girl, no hating on the mac and cheese AT ALL. I have ate way too much of it over the last couple of months, haha! And whaaaat? You can (and people do) really buy followers?! That's crazy!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Ugh! I gained so much weight when I started my new job too! I'm officially on a hardcore diet and exercise regime until I can lose a lot of this weight! I'm starting to go to bed early too because of my new workout schedule! It feels really good to be in bed that early sometimes!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I don't understand people who buy followers. I mean, why?! Haha. I'm with you on shopping at malls-I love me some online shopping! :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. The buying followers thing is RIDICULOUS! You aren't fooling anyone! Not even brands!

    ReplyDelete
  40. The quotes are funny but also put me into a thinking mode. Dealing with stupid people-everyday job but long time ago it stopped to make me nervous or frustrated.

  41. Hahahahahahahaha the mac n cheese and veggies end up being donuts quotes have me laughing so hard. So hard!!!! I totally go to bed between 9-10 nearly every night. And I keep my drinking to 2 or 3 drinks on either Friday night or Saturday. Though I started whole 30 this month so no drinks for me at all. GASP!!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Oh, man you have me laughing out loud. Yes to the buying followers & the link-ups. I mean, really. Also, I feel you on gaining weight in a new job. I'm hoping to turn that around this year! Love this post! xo, Champagne&Suburbs

  43. Ugh YES when people link up off topic posts it drives me INSANE. Like, I was actually trying to read posts about this topic, please get this crap out of here! Going to bed at 9 sounds awesome. I'll settle for 10. Usually we end up watching Netflix in bed until 11 buuut I usually fall asleep anyway. Can't hang.

  44. hahaha these are awesome! I don't know which one I liked more. But I'm sort of with you on the frames.. we have 2 baby's first Christmas ornament frames for our kids .. and have yet to be filled with their photos... and their 7 and 4! lol

  45. I'm with you on the link up thing. Which also goes hand in hand with buying followers. Why are people so freaking DESPERATE?!

    ReplyDelete
  46. way to go only drinking two days a week – that’s my goal for the next little bit – I’m pretty sure all of Christmas break we were sipping but on regular weeks once Thursday hits we usually have cocktails out. I’m hoping next week after catching up on the new year to have lots of nights in bed at 9 – I love getting to bed early and on weeknights I hate having plans haha.

    ReplyDelete
  47. So I co-hosted a linkup around Christmas and people literally linked up with their old posts from like 2013! We didn't specify that you COULDN'T do that, but... I think that's so rude. I drink more than I should. I love a glass of wine or beer with dinner! I really just want to imbibe on the weekends. New goal!

  48. I am legit cracking up so hard at your confessions! I love me some quality fake powder cheese, so hey, no judgement from me, girlfriend ;) AND YES to the whole buying followers/trying to fake people out with their insta-success...c'mon, we aren't stupid and we see that you are not REALLY all that famous, so get outta town with that drama. Ugh! xo

  49. ha! i'll never get tired of mac n cheese! and lol i think it's sooo funny when ppl all of a sudden have 10k followers! xo jillian - cornflake dreams
