Sequins and Sea Breezes: Weekending

Weekending

2/16/2015

Happy Monday loves! How was everyone's weekend? Hope you had a fabulous Valentine's Day! I am not looking forward to our mid/late week cool down this week but the weekend is supposed to be gorgeous so I'll take it. Although I will say, even though I caught up on my sleep this weekend I'm still wishing I was in bed right now. But I guess since I can't be in bed, I'll link up with the lovely Biana and Meghan for our weekend recap!

Ok, so this wasn't technically (or even remotely close) to the weekend but I had to include it anyway! Last Tuesday Kerri and I ventured out on a school night to a bar downtown for a bourbon tasting with Mr. Fred Noe, master distiller and grandson of Jim Beam.

Kerri is definitely by far more of the bourbon master than I am but it was still such a fun time and I even found a new bourbon I really like! I also learned a lot about bourbon I never knew before and Fred was an awesome guy. After the tasting we got to go out to dinner with a few people from the Jim Beam team, including Fred.

We also met a really sweet girl who works for Jim Beam and has a lot of similar interests as we do so don't be surprised if she eventually makes an appearance!

Ok, now on to the actual weekend. Friday night I kept it low key. I made dirty rice for the first time ever and we played Monopoly while watching a movie. I have to admit, the rice turned out pretty awesome and I'll definitely be making it again soon!

Saturday I made the mistake of running errands. Apparently everyone and their mom decided to go out as well. The mall was PACKED. I'm talking, Black Friday/Christmas packed. If I had to guess I'd probably say it had something to do with the movie theater being right next to the mall and 50 Shades of Grey being out. But it seemed like every guy was at the mall doing last minute Valentine's Day shopping. So romantic. <--- Sense the sarcasm there? But I did get some ice cream so I guess it was all worth it.

Saturday night was spent makeup-less watching movies and sneaking some cuddles with this little guy. We were going to grill out steaks but I had a craving for pizza so I made an amazing goat cheese and prosciutto pizza.

Sunday I cleaned, ran some errands and gave myself a manicure. Nothing special but it was a nice relaxing weekend and I can't complain!

Hope everyone has a fabulous week!
