Happy Monday friends! I took this weekend pretty easy since I was so sick last week so I'm feeling nice and refreshed this morning which is always a good way to start the week. On the reverse side, one of my favorite ways to end the week regardless of whether it was bad, good or just normal, is with a fun little happy hour. I mean, who doesn't love happy hour, right? A few weeks ago Kerri and I stopped into a cute little place in Orlando and basically fell in love so of course that means I had to go back ASAP.

Earl's Kitchen & Bar is actually located inside The Mall at Millenia so it's the perfect place to pop in and enjoy a cocktail or grab a bite to eat after shopping. On top of being one of the most Instagrammable restaurants I've been in, it has amazing cocktails, food and the wait staff all looks like they just stepped off the glossy pages of a magazine. Earl's is one of the few restaurants in Orlando that not only offers happy hour every day of the week (yup, including Saturday AND Sunday) but they also have different daily deals that include food.


My first drink wasn't on the happy hour menu but after getting it with Kerri a few weeks ago I knew I HAD to get it again. It's delicious, pretty and every time I post it on Instagram or Snapchat I get multiple questions "what is that?!", the frozen pink lemonade mimosa. I will say, not on happy hour price it's a little overpriced. $10.50 normal price but all day Saturday it's only $6 so in the future I'll hold out for HH price on that.

After sitting at the bar for awhile we noticed a ton of people ordering mojitos (which were on happy hour and only $7 each) so we decided we had to get one. Definitely well worth the $7!


Like I mentioned previously, they also have food specials and while the majority of the people around opted for the sushi or the wings (which did look amazing!) I opted for the truffle garlic fries. I mean, seriously. Truffle oil? Garlic? French fries? Yeah, my life was made. I devoured that shit in like 10 minutes flat.


Our final drink was one of their specialty cocktails called the Tiki Torch which was a little sweet in my opinion to have more than one but it was perfect if you like fruity umbrella drinks that make you feel like you're on vacation. They apparently used to serve it in a tiki glass but all of them got stolen. Seriously people, wtf is wrong with you?! Despite not having a cool glass, the presentation still gets an 'A".

Happy Friday friends!  Thank goodness the weekend is finally here, I am beyond ready for it! I was super sick this week so I had a really hard time being motivated to do... well much of anything but luckily I'm feeling better now. I had planned on writing something else today but after reading this over on Emily's blog last week and I totally had to steal it. I love getting to learn more about other bloggers (even though I know Emily in real life I still learned a lot about her from that post!) so hopefully you guys love reading them as much as I do!

Whatttt, I'm posting on a Tuesday?! Who am I, right? I feel like life has been crazy lately but I finally managed to sneak in some blogging pictures in between work, the gym and jamming out to Dashboard Confessional. Yeah, I know, they haven't released an album since 2010 but occasionally I go through these days where I spend all day at work listening to Hands Down and this happens to be one of those weeks. Ironically it happens to be the week after 3eb announced a fall tour (which of course Kerri and I will be attending, shocker, right?) which brings them back to Orlando and the last time we saw them in Orlando it was with Dashboard! If you weren't hanging around these parts then, you can read all about that concert here, fun times.
Ok, enough chit chat. Can we talk about how much I love this dress for a minute? Ya'll know I'm not huge into floral prints... or prints at all. Or color. And especially not orange and blue... At most you usually can find me rocking stripes but I'm just not a floral kind of girl. However, this dress was just too cute to pass up AND on sale so here we are. And I don't hate it. I'm obsessed with the low back and guys... It. Has. Pockets. If someone could please explain to me my fascination with dresses with pockets I'd really appreciate it but until then I'm just going to keep scooping them up and freaking out over it. Hey, if that's all it takes to make me excited should I really complain?

Oh hey humpday. As much as I love the fact the week is half over, I'd REALLY love it if it'd stop raining. This girl is missing the sun like crazy. Not to mention can we talk about how crazy my hair looks? Yeah, zero you know what's given guys. It is what it is and at least I'm real about it. I know I'm not perfect so why pretend to try to be, am I right? In fact, for those of you who know me, this is probably the one outfit I should not be posting on a "fashion" blog since this is about a basic outfit as you can wear but if I'm being real, this is what I wear pretty much every weekend. Since I hadn't done a fashion post in awhile I decided to do pics Saturday, in the rain I might add, after meeting up with Kerri for some shopping and frozen pink lemonade mimosas (yeah, they were the shit in case you were wondering). 

Some days I really do wonder why I have a fashion blog. I would say about 90% of my closet consists of black or white tank tops/t-shirts, jeans and shorts and tennis shoes so it really doesn't do much for a fashion blog but I have fun with it so whatever. I have to admit, I'm somewhat jealous of everyone talking about getting ready for fall fashion when I know I still have at least 4 more months of summer left but ask me again in December if I'm still jealous and I'm pretty sure I'll be singing a different tune ;) Some days I just miss boots and my leather jacket, not to mention snuggling under the covers while watching a movie with the windows open but until then I'll just have to continue enjoying days by the pool! Is anyone else as surprised today is the last day of July as I am? I feel like this month/summer completely flew by. I had plans to really kick up my workout routine this summer... and go dairy free and neither of those happened but surprisingly I still get a ton of comments and questions about my workout routine so I figured today was as good a day as any to talk about my workout routine! First off I want to say, I am in no way a nutritionist or a fitness expert so just because something works for me, doesn't mean it will work for someone else. And I would suggest if you aren't very active to start slow and work your way up before tackling an intense workout. While I'm not the most in-shape person ever, I am pretty active not just at the gym so I feel like I can push myself a little harder. 

I used to work out 6 times a week until I realized that my body needed some rest periods. I started getting really bad shin splints and I was sore more of than I wasn't so I took a step back and cut back the number of times I worked out. Listening to your body and not overdoing it is extremely important. Currently I work out between 3-4 times a week and for me it's perfect.

Monday and Wednesdays are usually my weight days. I generally break it out by upper body and lower body, starting with upper body Monday. I do a mix of free weights, cables and machines and I occasionally throw in some TRX workouts to switch it up. I often do a lot of my free weights and TRX exercises on a StrongBoard Balance Board to get a little extra out of it. Wednesday I mix it up between lower body and core using a mix of machines and a stability ball.

Thursdays are my cardio days which aren't my favorite days but like you learned from Zombieland, the first rule of Zombieland is cardio. In the event of a zombie takeover, you don't want to be the slowest kid on the block. Ok, I kid, but seriously; cardio is an important part to fitness. In the cooler months I prefer to get outside and run but when it's as hot as it is outside right now, I tend to stick to either cardio classes like spinning or Zumba or a 30-45 minute HIIT workout on the treadmill.

The weekends I try to get at least one workout in on top of going out and just being active. Usually if I workout on Saturday I'll do an early morning Boot Camp workout before it gets too hot outside that consists of a bunch of different burst training exercises. If I workout on Sunday I try to make it more of a relaxing one so I'll take a yoga class to unwind before starting the week. 

If you hate going to the gym (and if you do, I don't blame you at all) get outside! I used to love going to Disney because it would be a guarantee I'd get several miles of walking in while having fun. I'm also a huge fan of being out on the water, paddle boarding and kayaking are both great workouts that you don't really have to have any skill to do. I also love barre classes for a nice full body workout not in a gym! I hope this helps give you some ideas or maybe some motivation.
