Sequins and Sea Breezes: Being Indecisive

Being Indecisive

3/05/2014

Do you ever meticulously put together an outfit then turn around and wear the main piece of that outfit at a later time and spend less time putting it together and realize it was way cuter the way you did it when you spent less time on it? Yeah, that totally happened to me here. Sometimes I really put way too much thought into my outfit, do the pictures then wear it again later and I'm like "wow, why didn't I think of wearing this with it instead of what I wore?" I definitely have a (bad) habit of overanalyzing things so it doesn't surprise me that I do that with my outfits. Not only do I overanalyze things, I'm also one of the most indecisive people I've ever met (thanks mom, I get that from you). Take this dress for example, I found it on ASOS.com and I really liked it but wasn't sure if it was cute or weird so I had to get the opinion of three other people before making the decision to buy it. I was worried the print might be too busy, the sleeves too "cheap" looking, or the fit making me look either like a little kid or a pregnant lady (oh the joys of being small and having breasts, loose fitting things can make you look pregnant if the material doesn't fall right). In the end I'm really glad I bought this dress, I love the material and the sleeves and I think the print is fun! I wore heels and my hair wavy here which made it a bit dressier in my opinion but maybe I'll do a post again in the future showing how I dressed it down since I liked that way better!

On another note, it's Ash Wednesday and I can't decide what to give up for Lent! Any suggestions?

  1. I love those shoes - and i love the leather detailing on the sleeves!! The length of the dress really highlights how well defined your legs are!! In the non-weird way that comment may have sounded lol

    1. Hahaha thanks! At first I thought the dress was a little short but I think since it's flowy it works. If it was tight I think I'd feel a little... exposed... LOL!

  6. I really liked my experience with ASOS....granted it was one dress....the website does tend to overwhelm me though there is so much on there! I have to go on there with a mission like "red skirt" otherwise I get lost for hours on there. That dress is so pretty perfect for the transition into Spring with the sleeves :-) xoxoxo

    1. Haha I actually found this dress after I went to the ASOS site looking for your dress! I agree, it's definitely overwhelming at times! I have to really be in the mood to online shop in order to spend any length of time on there! Thanks!! :)

    1. Thanks Lucy! I completely agree with you there! When I wore this dress to work I literally just threw my hair up in a tiny bun and threw on some accessories and I got way more compliments that day than I did when I actually tried LOL!

  11. That definitely has happened to me before! Sometimes when a sponsor sends me something that I only have a few days to photograph and post, I put 12 zillion sleepless minutes trying to figure out how best to showcase it, photoshoot it, post it and a week or so later naturally come up with a much better way to wear the piece! Ugh! In any case, you look insanely marvelous here! I don't think I could have possibly come up with a better way to accessorize this look!
