Sequins and Sea Breezes: Weekending

Weekending

9/14/2015

Happy Monday loves! Ugh, another weekend over way too soon. And still no cooler weather for us. I keep hoping I'll wake up and it will magically be cooler but I know that's just not going to happen for awhile so I need to stop holding out for it. Although the lack of cooler temperatures didn't stop me from doing a little fall shopping over the weekend! Speaking of the weekend, let's get right into my weekend recap with Biana!
St. Petersburg Distillery
St. Petersburg Distillery
Ok, I'm going to start my weekend recap on Thursday just so I can include a few pics I took then :) Thursday I went to a distillery in St. Petersburg for a private tour for work. It was such a blast getting to tour the facility and check out how everything is made. We then did a little tasting up stairs in their tasting room and had lunch. Definitely an awesome day at work. Then to end the day I met up with my girl Kerri for drinks at one of our favorite places, Carmel (ignoring my horrible hair. It was SO hot during the tour and I had to wear a hair net UGH). Our normal bartender looked at us like we were crazy when we packed up to leave before it was even dark out since usually we pretty much shut the place down but I had to get home to let my little furbaby out so it was an early night for us.
Carmel Winter Park
Friday I headed out to get some tapas and wine after work, two of my favorite things. I had SUCH a hard time sleeping Thursday night that after dinner I pretty much went home and straight to bed. If any of you follow me on Twitter you might have followed along with my Thursday night insomnia. Going to bed at almost 3 am then getting up at 6 am is not fun.

Saturday morning I just relaxed, watched tv and hung out with my pooch before heading out for some local exploring. Since UCF didn't play until 10:30 pm we headed down to City Walk to grab a drink and walk around before going shopping at the outlet mall.

Sunday we ventured out to the super touristy area of I-Drive to check out the Orlando Eye and the Sea Life Aquarium (both new attractions in Orlando that I got a super awesome deal to through my work) since it was rainy and gross out. The Eye had amazing views of Orlando (which probably would have been better had it not been so gross out) from 400 feet up. We watched a bit of the Packers game at a little bar down there before heading home and finishing up football from the couch.

That was my weekend in a nutshell! Hope everyone has a fantastic week!

  17. What an amazing weekend you had! Fantastic photos, especially of the gorgeous Orlando Eye. It sucks about not being able to sleep. As a very busy mom of a super energetic toddler, I hate insomnia, for sure.

  20. Hope you were able to catch up on some good sleep.... and ahhhh you got to ride The Eye! Although I could do without all the clouds and gloom. Of course it was cruddy all weekend, and now it's beautiful on a Monday. And now I'm totally craving a hurricane from Pat O'Briens - makes me want to go back to NOLA!

  28. Insomnia is no fun so sucks about that, but how cool about a private distillery tour! I love that all these city's are adding the "eye" which seems like such a fun treat for tourists and locals alike. Sucks that the weather wasn't more clear, but it looked pretty empty so that's good :)!

  34. Boo to not being able to sleep! That was me last night. :-( Sounds like had a great weekend though!! That brewery tour sounds like fun and does the aquarium. It has been pretty warm here too which is both great and not great. Not great because of all of the cute fall clothes, and great because in Chicago you gotta soak up every nice day before the winter!! :-)
