Sequins and Sea Breezes: Weekending

Weekending

6/06/2016

Happy Monday love bugs! Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! I had a nice mix of busy and relaxing so I'm feeling refreshed but still wishing it was the weekend of course. My work week this week is much slower than it was last week so that will be a nice change of pace. It's tough coming back from vacation straight into a crazy work week. Ok enough work talk, let's talk about my weekend with Biana!

Friday I was in Bradenton all day for work visiting a local brewery and brewing a beer for our company (I know, tough life, right?). The only downside is Bradenton is just over 2 hours from Orlando so by the time we were done there it was either sit in rush hour traffic home or grab dinner and head back after rush house. Of course we chose the latter of the two and relaxed a bit instead of sitting in the car for any longer than necessary.

Saturday morning I did a little at home workout before heading over to Disney for the last weekend of our passes before they black out for summer vacation. I have a love/hate relationship with losing our Disney passes for the next 2 1/2 months. It's going to be super hot and super busy so part of me is glad I can't go but then there's part of me that loves the option to go there, people watch, walk around and just be outside.

We drank around the world for the first time and had a blast then we headed over to Animal Kingdom to check out their new nighttime experiences. Up until May Animal Kingdom was only open until 6 pm but now they're open until 11 pm have a bunch of cool night experiences. We checked out The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic, and rode a few rides before heading home. And walking 7 miles in the heat is not a bad way to burn some calories either!

Sunday was spent relaxing and running errands like a typical Sunday. We hung out by the pool for a bit so I can keep my Islamorada tan going and caught up on tv shows from the week!

We have a tropical storm moving in today so it's going to be a wet one here in Florida. We're on the east side of the storm which usually means you get the worst weather so I'm hoping it isn't too bad but wish us luck! Have a wonderful week!

  3. You guys made the most out of your Disney passes for sure - I mean you used them a ton so that's awesome! I dont think I've ever been to Animal Kingdom, but how fun that they keep it open later in the summer!! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  4. Oh my goodness..seeing all of your disney posts makes me so jealous/nostalgic! I think it's awesome that you get to see the park so regularly! Even in the hot weather this summer... (I'm in Texas, so I can completely relate!).

And seriously - walking 7 miles is a great workout! Way to go, girl! I was at Sea World yesterday, and my feet are definitely feeling it this morning!

  6. I couldn't agree with you more on the love/hate relationship on the Disney blackout dates. You really don't want to be there when it's this hot and crowded, but not having the option to go whenever you want anymore kinda sucks. Enjoy the next few months at the pool and the beach instead, and it'll be bittersweet to return at the end of the summer! Cheers to a fabulous week gurlie <3

  16. You have a really cool job. I had no idea that you had blackout dates for your annual pass. That stinks but I can't even imagine how crowd it must be during the summer. Plus, it is so hot. I wouldn't be able to handle it. That is so great that Animal Kingdom closes at 11 now. I always thought they closed to early. haha Happy Monday.

  26. I miss our Disney passes to just head to Epcot for a day of drinking and eating around the world. My in-laws live in Bradenton so I'll have to look out for that brewery next time we visit down there. Hoping the storms aren't too terrible today because I can't deal with more flooding.

  27. Glad you got in one last visit before your break - I can't imagine going in the summer heat down there so that's definitely a plus! The cocktails all look delicious!

  28. That is such a bummer about the black out dates for your Disney passes, but at least you had one last beautiful day there! Ryan and I were disappointed that we didn't get to drink around the world when we were there - it was raining, so we weren't into it - but it looks like so much fun. Stay safe in that bad weather, girl!

  32. so is there an option for passes that you can pay more and go in the summer? i'm just curious, because i feel like i would want that option as well (not that i am going to live in florida any time soon but i'm just curious). i loved following along while you were drinking around the world lol

  33. Good luck with the storm blowing in! We've been dealing with lots of terrible weather here too, but we haven't had to deal with a tropical storm yet. I'm so jealous that you got to hang out at a brewery all day on Friday! It looked like you had a blast just based on your snaps! I didn't realize that the Animal Kingdom is open at night now! That would be really fun to visit!

  36. Beer tasting seems like it would be fun!

Only because I dont' live near there, but disney passes! I'd enjoy it even in the summer heat. Although I'm sure if I lived there I would get tired of it.

  37. Hope the storm isn't too bad for you guys, snuggling at home watching movies is the best during stormy days :)! Boo about the black out for the summer, but I guess I wouldn't want to be with the bulk of travelers at Disney. I had no clue that Animal Kingdom extended their hours, I haven't been there in 10 years and wish we could have gone while we were there...hopefully soon enough I'll be back :)!
