What's Up Wednesday!
7/26/2017
Today's post is brought to you by real life. Haha ok, I guess all of my posts are technically real life with a little extra makeup, but usually I post a fashion related post on Wednesdays and this week I'm switching it up a bit. Not really because I meant to but because I was too lazy (and wet from all the rain) this past weekend to actually do a fashion shoot so here we are! And that's what I call real life. Being too lazy (or busy) to tend to my interwebs life so I get to throw something together, which I will say, is completely unlike me since I am a planner and usually incredibly organized. So grab a cup of coffee and join me for some random thoughts.
// Monday was National Tequila Day. You'd think being in the industry I'm in that I would have known that but somehow (I blame Shark Week and my crazy weekend) I completely overlooked it. However, seeing all the Twitter posts about it made me super sad I wasn't sitting at La Cava de Tequila with my girl, Kerri, enjoying a shot of Dobel or Casa Noble. Ker, I think we need to make up for missing it soon ;)
// Speaking of La Cava, I've been seriously missing my Disney passes lately. Despite the fact it's hotter than Hades out right now, I miss being able to walk around, people watch and of course eat and drink all the things. I don't feel bad about having 5 margaritas and 7 tacos when I walked 8 miles in one day.
// My kombucha and water obsession has been real lately. I keep Snapping the GT's Cayennade and if you like spicy things... it is amazing. I've also recently become a fan of WTRMLN WTR. I wasn't sold at first but it grows on you.
// Despite the fact it's insanely hot out, I can't help but to want to spend as much time outdoors as I can. Call me crazy or a glutton for punishment but I'm happier outside even if it is melt-your-face-off hot. Of course it's always a little easier with a nice cold beer.
// I might be the only blogger in the history of fashion bloggers who did not purchase a single thing during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Not. One. Thing. I was going through some of my pictures from last fall to see if I needed to replace anything and I realized I wear a lot of plaid and leather in the fall. I'm not sorry but just as a warning, it's coming.
// I've been doing a lot of stuff with my work blog lately including migrating to self-hosted Wordpress, designing a new layout, working with the CSS to customize it and even renaming our blog and getting a new logo which has got me both completely unmotivated to do anything with my personal blog as well as motivated to make design changes to mine. It's such a double-edged sword.
And with that, I'm out! My co-worker just dropped a bomb on me and now I need to go talk to her about her life. Hope everyone has a fantastic rest of the week!

It's hard when you do a similar thing for work as you do for the blog, but what an amazing skill to have!! You could code your own site whenever you need to!! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way about being outside! It is hot as hell, and I regret being out there after about 10 minutes, but staying inside is just not an option!
ReplyDeleteI am totally addicted to Kombucha too! And that is so cool you do that for work as well, but I bet that that does make it hard to stay motivated for your personal blog!
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous that you are so close to Disney World. I would be there constantly with my family, but I agree that it is just too hot to do anything outside right now. Those Disney pictures are too cute!

GIRL--any advice on migrating from Blogger to Wordpress would be so appreciated! I have been wanting to do it but I'm dreading it! Can I just say you look SO darn cute in your Mickey ears?!

The Blogger to Wordpress migration is rough! I went through that a couple weeks ago and it is all consuming. Good luck with it! I will have to tell my husband about this kombucha flavor. He is obsessed with kombucha and is always looking for new flavors!

I caved and placed a Nordstrom order! All the 23489723 blog posts about it sucked me in haha!
ReplyDeleteThat kombucha sounds amazing! I need to see if I can find that brand here!

Life happens and that's okay girl! No big deal that you didn't post what you intended to, I like these types of posts anyways! And I didn't get anything form the Nordstrom sale either. Call me a cheapo, but I just don't see the point in paying $45 for a tee. lol And I'm getting excited for the fall season and all the boots too!
ReplyDeleteIm like you - still love being outdoors even when Im melting. The heat these days where I am is just terrible though. You blog for work too? No wonder you feel burnt out - I heard that blogger to wordpress migration is not easy ... lol
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to have Kombucha again!! Now I need to try that Watermelon water!
ReplyDeleteI too wasn't gonna get anything at the Nordie's sale but then couldn't help myself. haha. Still waiting for it to arrive. Maybe I won't like anything. I miss your Disney pass.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love these types of posts, it's just nice to chat and catch up! You didn't miss much from the NSale in my opinion - I only kept a couple tees and tanks and returned the rest! You already know that if I lived in Florida I would just move into Disney world - ha!
ReplyDeleteCheers gurlie, I didn't buy a single thing either. Over the years I've realized, I truly only need fall fashion items a handful of days a year (which I'm totally not mad about because this girl can't take the cold anymore), and it's just not worth the splurge. Even though I get thiiiis close to pulling the trigger on those TB riding boots every.single.year.

Ummm what is this Cayennade you speak of?! I'm a HUGE fan of spices, so I think that's right up my alley! Also, Disney. I'm trying to convince my husband that we need to take our nearly 3-year-old but he's not convinced lol what's a great argument?!
ReplyDeleteTequila is my fave - I did not intentionally celebrate National Tequila Day but I did have marg and fajitas so win-win. Can't wait to see all of the new blog things!

I may be the only person who's never had Kombucha and trust me, you are not alone. I have not bought a single thing from the nsale either...yet. LOL!

I miss Disney and tequila too! I still can't believe the insanely long line at the tequila place when we met up with you and Kerri last year! And I totally didn't buy anything during the Nordstrom sale either. I obviously don't want to buy too many clothes right now, but when I was scrolling through, I didn't see a ton that really caught my eye.
ReplyDeleteWhen you live down here, fall and winter are our times to be outside! I can't wait till it drops below the 80's at night so I can enjoy my porch again! I am proud of you for not buying anything at the sale!
ReplyDeleteI definitely celebrated national tequila day with some margs! AND I am MAJOR jealous of how close you are to Disney! I used to go all the time for dance and want to take my son... but I need to take out a loan for that lol :)

I'm all for celebrating National Tequila day any day girl! I also did not love the NAS. I bought one thing, one I definitely didn't even need lol. Stay cool :-)

Your Disney pictures have me reminiscing! I got engaged there last October :) So magical! My favorite place!
ReplyDeleteI love posts like this-- and still love those pics of you kerri, and ashley at disney! So cute! I only got one thing, a gift for someone else, from Nordstrom and I'm irrationally annoyed that it STILL hasn't shipped.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're keeping it real girl, I really enjoy the realness. I think you should do more random thought posts. I liked this a lot.

Good for you girl - not getting anything at the Nordstrom sale is quite the accomplishment if you ask me!!
ReplyDeletethat sweater you're rocking in the first pic looks soooo cozy. i was all about the basics for the nordstrom sale this year- such good deals! and i've yet to try kombucha- am i way behind? ha!
ReplyDeleteCompletely agree about wanting to constantly be outside despite the heat!! And I somehow refrained from the Nordstrom sale, too!!! Although it wasn't easy!! Have a great day!
ReplyDeletegirl. we need to catch up as these photos are giving me all the feels! i also need to do some tequila asap. maybe mañana! i cant believe it's been so long. also i really wasn't feeling the nordstrom sale. although i did get a pair of booties that i may rock tomorrow! bc fuck it. ha.

Hey gal! I totally understand the life struggle- when I'm most fulfilled & motivated at work I tend to struggle more with the blog (and vice versa)! Lately I've just been giving myself motivational pep talks to stay on the grind at both (and I think it's working-ha!) :) have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine how hard it is to be super creative at work and then come home and try to spark it up again. The Nordstrom sale is so hard for us Florida gals! How can we buy OTK boots when it's 100 degrees out?!?!
ReplyDeleteI will happily join you in drinking all of the tequila. There is nothing wrong with skipping shopping the Nsale! Everyone ends up with the same things in the end anyway, right?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for taking the time to comment on my blog,I love hearing from my readers! I try to reply to every comment via e-mail so if you don't get a reply from me you might be a no reply blogger!
