Sequins and Sea Breezes: Festival Fringe

Festival Fringe

4/14/2015

Happy Tuesday babes! I'm on day two of my healthier eating, no snacking and more exercising plan and I not really sure how I feel about it yet. I haven't noticed much of a change in my energy or anything but it is only day two so I'm sure it will come. Any one have any suggestions on how to keep from snacking? That is the one thing I am horrible at! Ok enough with that and let's talk about clothes, shall we? I'm not going to lie, I'm probably the LAST person you should be taking festival style advice from. I love seeing all the looks from Coachella and other festivals but putting together an outfit myself... eh. I'm definitely not the best with the boho look but when I saw this top I knew I had to at least try it on.

The second I put it on I knew it was coming home with me. I loved it far more than I thought I would given it's not my normal style (although don't get me wrong, I love me some fringe!). If you haven't already checked out the H&M Loves Coachella line and you're into the festival/boho trend you totally should! They have so many great pieces at such reasonable prices. I'm loving this pretty crochet dress (of course) and this fun fringe maxi skirt. To keep with the "festival look" I wore this top with a pair of mid-waist (I look ridiculous in high-waisted) black cutoff denim shorts, gladiator sandals and of course my favorite floppy hat. It was SO muggy out the day I took these pictures that my hair went immediately flat after being outside for like 15 minutes so excuse my hair. At least the hat hides most of the craziness! What do you think of the festival style?

  1. Well you clearly belonged at Coachella this year!! I love that top on you and actually it's not as boho as much as it's fabulous on you!! I love the colors and love that it's not really earthy toned...did that make any sense?! xo, Biana - BlovedBoston

  2. I agree with Biana--I could totally see you rubbing elbows with the celebs in photos in this outfit! :)
    I think you should be snacking through the day, but just on the right snacks. Snacking is good for your metabolism, but not if it's a candy bar or something haha. Good job sticking to your plan!! :)

  11. I love this! You look like you're rocking Coachella and in a super chic fashionista way! I'm with you on the no snacking. I can't ever stop and it is my biggest downfall!

  12. Love that outfit, it looks perfect for Coachella! You'd be a fierce festival babe.

    I think trying to stop snacking is an admirable goal to have, but I'm all for snacking on carrots and veggies. Sometimes my meal isn't enough for me or a Ineed a pep in my afternoon step and usually a handful of baby carrots and some grape tomatoes gets me moving. If you find you don't need the snacks, don't have one, but if you're struggling reach for real food for help. :)

  18. So pretty girl! Loving those shoes! And I'm working on a healthier lifestyle, too -- I'm still snacking, but on things like popcorn and protein smoothies instead of chips and cookies! Smaller meals and healthier snacks!

  20. I thought you did an excellent job rocking the boho look! Love those sandals too! Btw I'm a horrible snacker, I find if I just eliminate all the snacks I like in the cupboards at home or at work, I'm golden. (;

  24. that top is so fabulous on you!! you definitely rock the festival look, without the festival ;)
    i am SO bad about snacking, seriously it's my downfall. i'm on day 2 of trying really hard to eat better as well, and honestly i never see an improvement in my energy until at least a week of healthy eating and exercising, you know? but anyway, my number 1 thing that helps me stop snacking is a cup of hot tea (i'm already on my 3rd today) to keep me occupied and then i switch to water at about 1pm after lunch. i just make myself drink water or hot tea any time i get an inkling to snack.. i was 2lbs lighter this morning after eating ALL the food on the weekend so YAY!! hope it keeps going down lol.

  25. The fringe is so fun! As for snacking, I always keep fresh fruits and veggies on hand so that my snacks are healthy. Keep up the good work girl! I'm right there with you!

  26. I;m on a work computer and the images won't load! NOOO!! I;m sure you look awesome, though! To help me stop snacking, I just try to eat a bunch of small mini meals throughout the day! That way I eat less and I'm not snacking :) I would love to collab sometime, email me at Candace@lovelaceddesigns.com if you're interested!

  27. I love this look on you! You certainly nailed the festival look with those fringes and I adore it.

    As far as snacking goes. I used to be really really bad at snacking. The trick is to make sure you are eating enough protein at every meal to stay full longer. Anytime I want a snack, I try to drink an entire glass of water first. If I still feel like snacking...then I will indulge, but usually on something healthy-ish. If I don't buy random, processed snack food then I dont have it around the house to tempt me.

  28. What a pretty top! You styled it perfectly! To be honest, I've never heard of a carnival fringe top. Lol. My advice on avoiding snacking is to make sure you drink lots of water. That keeps you full. And if you feel like you need a snack, chug some water instead. :)
