Sequins and Sea Breezes: Weekending

Weekending

4/20/2015

Happy Monday lovelies! I don't know about you but I am really wishing I had a few more quality hours with my pajamas and bed. I had a pretty busy weekend so I'd appreciate one more day to get some relaxing in. Oh well, that's what next weekend is for, right? I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. How about we do a little recap with the lovely Biana?

Friday night I laid low and hung out at home in preparation for Saturday. I knew I was spending the day in the sun so I didn't really want to drink or stay out late. I got caught up on Reign and tried a new recipe for dinner.

Saturday I was up bright and early to mix cocktails for the boat and get everything together. I ended up making the Pink Bikini cocktail I posted two weeks and and it was AMAZING. Definitely making that more often this summer!

I was a bit worried about the weather because it was an 80% chance of rain earlier in the week but as you can see from the picture above, the weather could not have been more perfect! Me, Kerri and Kate had an amazing day out on the water. Kate and I even got a bit crazy and jumped off of one of the river markers which was about 12-15 feet off the water. After the boat we hung out at the marina pool and bar for a bit before going to grab dinner and our favorite Mexican restaurant and then play some games at my house. I was a bad blogger and was a little too tipsy to remember forgot to take pictures after the boat.

Sunday I woke up SUPER early. I woke up on my own at 5 am and couldn't fall back asleep... I think I was a bit dehydrated. It ended up working out ok because I wanted to get to Target early for the Lilly Pulitzer collection.

I ended up scoring one piece... the crowds were RIDICULOUS. The line was around the building when I got there before Target even opened. Women were seriously taking entire racks to resell online. After seeing how many things are on eBay I feel like you aren't going to be able to resell things for a lot but I could be wrong. I tweeted about the craziness and my tweet got retweeted almost 200 times and favorited 64 times. Whatttt?!?! It even got put out on the local news in Minneapolis AND I got into a Twitter argument with some stupid guy which ended up being hilarious and provided the brunch entertainment for the day. That guy was seriously such a loser but it was pretty darn funny putting him in his place. I don't get in Twitter arguments very often but this one was worth it.

Like I mentioned, after Target I met up with my girl Jill for brunch. After some food and mimosas we decided to walk around with these amazing alcoholic Popsicles. Hello mimosa popsicle!

We also decided to rent the little swan paddle boats which was a ton of fun but holy work out! After that we walked back to her place and I headed home to do some chores. Sorry this post was a little picture heavy...and long. Be thankful, I had a ton more pics I could have posted! ;)

Hope everyone has a fabulous week!!

  1. WOOHOO for a fun boating weekend. The weather looked amazing and that drink sounds delicious. So sad about the Lilly stuff. I heard about a ton of nightmare situations from a lot of friends, so sad. Way to be a twitter trend ;)!

Hope you get some extra sleep tonight, I"m feeling you on the extra bed and pj time! Happy Monday!

  2. So glad that you guys were able to make it out--love it when the weather cooperates with fun plans! :)
Ugh, at least you were able to get something--I got there and turned around almost immediately at some people's behavior. And seeing it all on eBay by 8:30 was annoying too. I lost some of my faith in humanity, seeing people act like that over clothing. I'll never do it again, that's for sure.
Glad you ended the weekend on that cute paddle boat! Hope your Monday is off to a good start!!

  3. Oh my you did so much this weekend! You you need another day to just sleeping! Lilly was insane, it's kinda sad that ppl just wanted to resell instead of actually get something for themselves. A lot of ppl missed out.

  7. girl that lily stuff was a MESS. i swear it was all eBay people snatching up everything and not people who would actually like to wear it. we couldn't get near it. my target sold out in 4 minutes. FOUR! ridiculous.

  8. You seriously had such a fun weekend girl! Summer is just around the corner and your post makes me insanely happy for it! I wish I was on the boat with you and Kerri instead of grading papers booooo. Seeing grown women rip things out of each others hands was something I never need to witness again. A mimosa popsicle pretty much needs to be in full stock in my household this Summer!

  9. Haha I love that you got in a Twitter argument with a MAN over the Lilly Pulitzer collection! I'm sorry I missed that. My experience wasn't too crazy and I got some good stuff. So jealous of your boat trip this weekend - I would give anything to be able to do that right now! And don't get my started on mimosa popsicles. Holy yum!

  12. Such a fabulous day out on the boat with you guys! I was a bit dehydrated yesterday as well, so you're a trooper going to brave the Target madness and some Sunday Funday action. You know I still have never rented one of those swans, and I need to get on that stat.

    Have a fabulous week <3

  16. Yes for boating weather! How fun. A swan paddle boat?! That's amazing in itself. The Lilly for Target thing was complete madness in my opinion - it's just clothes people!

  17. Looks like a fabulous weekend! Can't wait for boating weather here! Mimosa popsicles sound amazing too. I can't believe the LP madness. I didn't even attempt it! Happy Monday, lady!

  19. I guess I should've known this is how the Target launch would go down. But really what's wrong with people buying out entire racks. So now me, who really wants a shift dress has to wait weeks until they restock. It's a shame. /: I hope no one buys that stuff off ebay. Woohoo you are on the news! (: And twitter arguments are always the best. (;

Looks like you had a wonderful weekend. That swan boat is precious!

  20. I didn't get a single thing from the Lilly launch! Didn't even try to go to target because it would've been around 9 and everything was long gone. I hate how it turned out -- maybe they will restock? But it looks like you had an amazing weekend in the sun!

  21. Sounds like such a fabulous weekend!! A day on the lake sounds amazing :) One good thing about living in Podunk Ohio--not one single line for lilly--I think I was the only person in my town who knew it came out ha!

  24. How cool that your tweet got on the news!! It was crazy, and I looked on eBay and people are actually bidding!! The dresses are going for like $100… crazy! Your boat day looks like a blast and makes me want to get out on the lake! xo

  27. what a fun weekend! but seriously, that lilly stuff is ridiculous! i cannot believe people bought entire racks to sell on ebay and they are pricing it so high - pathetic indeed!! and you are so twitter famous :)

  28. Twitter celeb, girl! Those popsicles totally had to help with the damn Lilly insanity I'm guessing ;) Love the print you got; unique and not "too" Lilly if that makes any sense. But don't get me wrong, I'd love some of the houseware items they had!

  29. What a fun weekend!!! A day in the sun certainly calls for a lazy day of relaxation afterwards! I can not believe all the mayhem with the Lilly collection at Target. It really is sad that people just buy it up to resale. Takes all the fun out of scoring a great deal for someone who actually enjoys the brand and might now otherwise be able to afford it. They should limit how much you can purchase.

  35. Your Saturday seriously sounded PERFECT! I am dying to get out on a boat! I'm glad it was beautiful weather for you! And seriously, I can't even believe the craziness with the launch at Target on Sunday. Good thing I didn't know about it so that I didn't have to be tempted to go stand in line just to end up with nothing, ha ha!

  36. Mimosa popsicles might just be the best thing I have read all day! My freezer is going to be filled with those!

  37. I am beyond jealous of your boating adventures - the perfect way to spend a Saturday! And I'm still reeling from the Lilly nonsense.. I can't get over how crazy it was! My Target definitely wasn't as crazy, but it's just awful how people are reselling on eBay for ridiculous prices! I'm just happy I was able to snag a couple of home goods, but I love that your Tweet got so much attention - haha! The sad thing is that I bet Target starts rethinking these designer collabs after all of the backlash with this one.
