Weekending {Extended Edition}
9/02/2014
I hope everyone had a fabulous extended weekend! I know I did! While it's tough to be back at work today it's nice knowing it's a short week and we're already one day closer to the weekend. It's hard to be sad knowing another weekend is only 4 days away, despite how tired I am today. I guess that's my own fault so I can't complain... plus coffee can fix anything, right? Since I decided to take yesterday off from blogging and enjoy the beautiful weather I decided to link up with the lovely Biana and Meghan for another edition of weekending!
I started out my weekend attempting to get my iPhone battery replaced since it was part of the free replacement recall but even after making an appointment they were all out of batteries so no luck there. Since it was pouring outside and I failed at my battery replacement I decided why not head over for some pizza and wine? Oh yeah, and some ricotta stuffed meatballs because... well why not?
Seriously, this place has the best white pizza. I'm obsessed. They also have a pretty amazing happy hour. You can't beat $3 Asti Spumante!
Saturday was not only the UCF game (which sadly, we lost by 2 points) but it was also our annual Fantasy Football Draft. It was an early morning for me but well worth it despite the UCF loss. I do feel optimistic about our season once our coaches got real and put in our obviously better quarterback. After the game and the Fantasy Draft we played some cornhole and this new game called Polish Horseshoes. Has anyone else heard of this game? Yeah, me either. It was hilarious to watch! I sucked at it and it was rather dangerous being a spectator but definitely good for some laughs!
After the already long day we went out for dinner and drinks for a friend's birthday. I really didn't think I'd be able to stay up as long as I did but I'm proud to say I actually stayed out until almost midnight which was pretty impressive for getting up at 7 am and going non-stop all day. But how do you say no to wine? You can't.
Sunday was my only day of relaxation this weekend and I actually spent it cleaning the house and running errands so I don't know how "relaxing" it was but at least I didn't have any where I had to be.
For Labor Day me and a few friends decided to make the hour and a half trek over to Rainbow Springs for a 4 hour tubing adventure. The water is absolutely gorgeous here and tubing was a blast. We definitely learned a few lessons this time so in the future we know to bring a cooler with drinks and snacks even though the "rules" say not to. And extra sunscreen probably wouldn't be a bad idea. I managed to avoid getting burnt but a few others in our group didn't make out so well.
{I obviously didn't take this picture but I wanted to share how pretty the water is}
A few tips if you ever head out tubing here (or at any of the Florida Springs State Parks); if you have your own tube, bring it. They have air compressors there to blow them up and it will save you a few bucks not to mention time. Like I said, bring a cooler (no alcohol allowed) with some waters and snacks... 4 hours is a long time to be out in the sun with nothing. Finally, make sure you bring rope to tie yourselves together. It's super easy to get separated if you aren't tied together and holding on to each other for 4 hours is just not going to happen.
Finally (sorry, I know this post is SUPER long!!) I just wanted to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the best mom a girl can ask for! Love you mom, hope you have an amazing day! Wish I lived closer so we could celebrate but we'll have margaritas the next time I see you!
