Sequins and Sea Breezes: Weekending

Weekending

9/29/2014

Happy Monday dolls! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! I spent the majority of it relaxing and I definitely can't complain about that. I will however, complain about the massive amounts of rain we are still getting. Ok Florida, it's time to get real. Although I don't see that happening any time soon since it's an 80% chance of rain today and tomorrow. No bueno. Ok enough about the rain, it's time to link up with my girl Biana for my weekend recap!

I'm going to start this recap by saying I officially need to go on a 30 day cleanse or something. This is the second weekend in a row I've gone to an all you can eat place and absolutely STUFFED my face then spent all weekend laying around and eating more. So it's official, in order to be cruise ready by November I'm going to make an attempt to eat cleaner... hopefully.

Friday night I went out to celebrate a friend's birthday at Fogo de Chao. If you've never been to Fogo de Chao (or Texas de Brazil which was our original location but they didn't have any reservations available) I highly recommend going on a VERY empty stomach. It's a Brazilian Steakhouse where you get a plate and a little card that is green on one side and red on the other. When you have it flipped to green people with skewers of ALL the meat just come around cutting you off as much as you want. Let's just say I took full advantage of the food and I'm pretty sure I won't eat steak again for like 6 months.

Saturday I randomly decided I need to bake muffins, don't ask me why. I also decided I was going to try to make homemade dog treats. Lately my dog has been getting sick every time he gets a treat so I'm thinking it must be something in the treats. I wanted to make the treats in the shape of a bone so I went hunting through my cookie cutter collection and ya'll.... I have a problem.

I have WAY too many cookie cutters. And I think I've used like 4 of these... After sorting through a hundred cookie cutters I watched the Wisconsin game before heading out to the craziest mall in Orlando to do some shopping. Unfortunately I was a bad blogger during my shopping trip and didn't take a single picture. I blame the MASSIVE amount of foreign tourists and their screaming kids. I'm pretty sure it was one of the quickest shopping trips I've ever had just because I couldn't deal with all the people (this is why I online shop)!

Sunday was spent relaxing and it was MUCH needed. I was hoping to get some pool time but of course just like the past week or two it definitely wasn't pool weather. {Side note, I miss the sun...} I cuddled with this little guy

Made crock pot carnitas and homemade Spanish rice.

And did some reading while the boys watched football.

Yes, I've read this book at least a dozen times but every once in awhile I get the urge to re-read it again so I did. Can anyone figure out what I'm reading? {Don't judge me if you can! ;) } Did any one have any exciting weekend plans? If you got to see the sun I'm already jealous! Hope everyone has a fabulous week!

  17. It sounds like a nice weekend despite the rain and tourists. Malls can be the worst, especially on weekends. Whenever I have to go to one I always try for the middle of the week at an odd time so it's empty-ish. I seriously envy your cookie cutter collection! And, is that last Twilight book?

  20. I hear ya on the need for detox. I made two batches of brownies over the weekend and I couldn't stop eating them!! Not to mention all the pasta I've been consuming lately too! I know what you mean about trips to the mall. I prefer to shop online as well. I like making purchases from the comfort of my own couch...with a glass of wine! Hope the sun comes out for you soon!
