Sequins and Sea Breezes: Valentine's Day Gift Ideas

Valentine's Day Gift Ideas

1/28/2015

I'm not going to lie, I'm not really into Valentine's Day. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the holiday or have anything against it but I'm just not really big on the holiday. To me it's a bit more of a Hallmark holiday and I'd rather be surprised with flowers or a cute little card on a random day during the year rather than on a day that companies hike up the prices to capitalize off of the occasion. With that being said, I would definitely never object to a present or flowers, obviously, but I'm not going to hold it against someone for just treating it like any other day.

A lot of guys say girls are hard to shop for but I couldn't disagree more. Guys are hard to shop for, girls on the other hand, are extremely easy. To prove it I put together this little gift guide of cute Valentine's Day gifts that won't break the bank (ok, minus the Tieks but what girl doesn't want a pair of super cute shoes?).

  1. Gary and I actually don't do gifts for Valentine's Day because his birthday is like 5 days later and then it's my birthday and then our anniversary....so we usually stick to a card, but I'm really loving candles lately and that would be a nice little gift!! xo, Biana - BlovedBoston

  2. You have picked pretty much all of my favorite things! Valentine's Day is so much more fun when you have little ones. I used to feel the same way, but now I get really excited about Valentine's Day.

  3. We don't do big gifts for Valentine's Day. Usually its a card and maybe something thoughtful and small. These gifts are perfect!

  4. I'm with you lady, never been the biggest Vday fan. I love the colors, obviously, but also think a card in May is just as sweet. We usually just do dinner together and a card. Fun lil gifts!

  5. I'm with you on this! Mainly because we never end up getting to see each other or celebrate Valentine's Day together for one reason or another. This year we're trying to keep it simple: get dressed up & go out on a date. But I definitely wouldn't say no to those earrings...

  6. I couldn't agree with you more on Valentines Day... we haven't celebrated it in years. We're not a fan of the fixed menus, overcrowded restaurants, and overpriced cliche flowers and chocolates. If we do anything, we stay in and I make a pot of fondue and we enjoy champagne and dessert by the fire pit outside which is perfect for us.

Love your gift ideas! The KS Eat Cake for Breakfast is still my favorite mug in my cabinet :)

  8. I have been so good but I'm really itching for that rose gold pair of tieks!!!! I am a big stickler for cards. I made sure that was started early on ;-) I told him save all the little presents for big presents and so far it has worked out lol. I do love those candles too!

  9. I'm with you - not big on Valentines Day at all. Especially because my birthday is 2 days before, so I have never gotten a gift or anything because I've just been spoiled for my birthday! In fact, I think last year (or the year before?) my husband and I ate at Chik Fil A. Haha.

  10. I love/hate Valentine's Day. It has gotten much more fun since I have had kids, but who wants to be upcharged for a meal just because of a date on the calendar? These are such cute gift ideas! I love that phone case and you can never go wrong with a splurge pair of Tieks!

  11. Fabulous gift picks, girl! I'm with you on the whole Vday thing - plus, Ryan always gets a pass because my birthday is two weeks later, so I don't like putting too much pressure on him to plan things for both events!

  17. We aren't huge Valentines people either - we usually do a dinner out but that's about it. However, this is a great round up of little gifts! I just ordered my first Diptyque candle yesterday and I can't wait to get it!

  18. I agree, we don't do much on Valentine's day because our dating anniversary is 2 days before so we'll get little gifts for each other on that day instead.

  23. Cute ideas and all stuff I would love...Comfy PJs are always a win in my books! I have those earrings in turquoise and they're super pretty and I need to finally get a pair of tieks since I'm infamous for throwing off my heels mid-celebration.

  27. We always keep Vday low key. I make homemade lasagna and we might crack open a bottle of wine. We usually exchange cards and sometimes a little gift but nothing over the top. I love the gift ideas you listed above! That cell phone cover is so cute! And I have been wondering if I should invest in a pair of Tieks.
