Sequins and Sea Breezes: Weekending

Weekending

3/23/2015

Happy Monday loves! Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. I got a lot of relaxing time in so I can't complain. I'm super tired so I'm just going to jump right into my weekend recap with the lovely Biana and Meghan!

Friday night I came home and the weather was gorgeous so I decided to go for a bike ride with this little guy. Don't let him fool you, he totally jumped out to chase another guy on a bike. It basically ended with him dragging me home. The basket thing is still a work in progress.

Saturday I decided I wanted to lay out and even out my color since last week only the front got sun. When I went to figure out which of my 3,698,242 bikinis I wanted to wear I realized all* of them were dirty so I did what every sane, normal person would do and I ran out to Target to get a new top to match a pair of bottoms I already had. I saw this top on my girl Amanda and I decided to give it a shot too.

Saturday night I was supposed to meet up with Kerri for CAH and wine but she was nursing a hangover from the night before so I settled on queso and sangritas instead! I can never complain about Mexican food!

Sunday was pretty uneventful. Got some drinks and lunch, attempted and failed at some shopping. I've determined that online shopping is the way to go for me lately. As much as I love the crop top and cut out trend it is definitely not work appropriate so shopping is a bit hard these days! Then I did some grocery shopping and I apologize ahead of time but this is going to be a bit of a rant. I did my grocery shopping at Publix like I do EVERY Sunday and I'm getting REALLY sick of buying stuff off the shelf from Publix and it having an expiration date weeks past the day I'm shopping on the "Best Buy" date is well passed. This is probably the 5th time in 2 months I've bought something from Publix that technically shouldn't even be on the shelves. Obviously it's my own fault for not checking every single item I buy before leaving the store but who has time for that?!? Word to the wise... if you shop at Publix, double check the expiration date before checking out. I know multiple people who have had this problem recently as well. Ok rant over. For now...

Sunday evening consisted of reading and cuddling with my little furbaby. I can't believe how the Nook looks completely blank white in that picture. So weird!

Hope everyone has a great week!!

  1. Hooray for a fun and relaxing weekend. You look so darling on your bike and your lil passenger is way too stinking cute.

That bathing suit back is amazing, so jealous you grabbed some pool time. We still have 50s, which is better than freezing but I'd be a popsicle in a bathing suit. Hurry up, up summer!

Huge fan of online shopping too, maybe too big of a fan according to my bank account ;)! Have a fabulous day, friend!

  3. I love that you spent your Friday (attempting) to bike ride with your pup! So so cute! Too bad he wasn't as willing to cooperate haha. At least you got in some snuggles this weekend! I'm totally envious of your pool time! I'm counting down the days/hours/minutes until Im in a bikini :)
I'm a BIG online shopping fan--I'll only do it if you can return in store tho (or free returns), otherwise it's too much $$ and not worth it.
Hope you have a good start to the week girl!!

  6. I mean your bike it so perfect!!!! I love it!!! How awesome/terrible/amazing is that suit right? Like getting into it is a total workout but the end result is quite the payoff ;-) Did you get it in the leopard print? I wish I lived bike distance riding away from you!!!! That queso and chips I will take that right now please! Online shopping FTW every time! That way you don't have to deal with people lol

  17. SO lame that Publix has items on the shelf that are past the expiry date?! As if they don't check that... I'd be so mad about that! Haha... otherwise it looks like you had a wonderful weekend. I wish so much that I could be out sun tanning too. Instead this morning it was -27 with the wind chill!!! Huuuuuge wtf hahaha.... Spring my butt!

  23. Your pup in his little basket looks so cute (and innocent! lol). I'm all about online shopping lately too. I just don't have the energy to hunt down stuff in stores anymore! haha Hope you have a good day lady!

  24. I love that you can put the pup in your bike basket!! Hopefully he gets the hang of that soon! Love that you got a new suit instead of washing your other ones – I always get so behind on washing suits, it’s great to have a ton! Mexican food is the best alternative!

  25. How cute is that pic of you and your dog?? So jealous of your warm Florida weather! Lounging by the pool is still months away for us New Yorkers! And I'm so with you re online shopping. I find I have better luck when I go that route too. Happy Monday :)

  26. I'm really crazy about expiration dates so I almost always check everything when I shop (even spices, haha...), but it is SO frustrating when stores have stuff past the date or super close to the date still on the shelves- even worse when you get home and realize something has already expired! So jealous of your warm and sunny weather / laying out! The picture of you and your dog on the bike is so cute!

  27. Aw, that shot of you and your sweet pup is so adorable! I wonder if I could get mine to stay in a basket. New project! And ah I am so jealous you got to lay out in the sun.

  32. I'm SO jealous of your sun bathing. I was in carharts, winter boots, and a stocking cap to go outside this weekend! Wth! Love the little basket for your furbaby on your bike! That is too funny that he jumped out to chase someone! :)

  33. Oh no haha poor you on the bike with the dog jumping out mid-ride. At least you got a good picture first; fooled us otherwise that it was nothing short of just perfect and adorable. Loving the back of your new bikini and of course you did your weekend right with that yummy food :)

  34. Hehe doggie in a basket! Love it!! Mine would NEVER sit still in there for even a second. Ever. Your food and drinks look delicious! Mmmmm! And I have had a problem with expiration dates at Target lately, where I do most of our shopping. I have better luck at our Publix, everything seems to be fresher dates there. Except strawberries. They went bad after one day from Publix last week!! But it is so frustrating when you buy something you have to throw out!

  35. Sounds like a great weekend! I got to catch some rays as well. Target has the cutest swimsuits, don't they? I am loving that top and I think it was totally logical to run out and buy it! Sounds like a great weekend!

  38. That bike and basket - so cute!! How frustrating on the Publix situation! You should write to their corporate office and complain. That kind of negligence from their end could really get someone sick 🙈 and that bikini top...I needs!
