Sequins and Sea Breezes: Weekending + A Giveaway

Weekending + A Giveaway

10/20/2014

Wow. What a weekend. It's not often that I'm happy a weekend is over but I'm not complaining this Monday. My faith, courage and strength was definitely tested this weekend and probably will continue to be tested for the next several weeks but I am hoping that I can find the courage within me to keep putting one foot in front of the other and keep breathing. Life is too short to give up or wallow in things beyond your control and that is going to be my motto moving forward. Lately I've almost felt like I've had this sixth sense about things and the thing that had me down a few weeks ago ended up actually becoming a reality. Ok enough the bad it's time to link up with the lovely Biana for our weekend recap!

Friday began my troubles and they say bad things happen in threes... they could not be more right about that! Luckily having all the negative on one day meant I had all weekend to recoup. It also helps having great friends who are willing to go out and have a drink, enjoy some potato gems (tater tots for those non-Aussies like myself but it has a nice ring to it so I use it) and play some epic giant Jenga when you're having a bad day.

Saturday was of course spent doing the same thing I do every Saturday... college football. UCF had a noon kick off so we did a tiny bit of tailgating before going into the game. I am determined UCF is trying to give me more gray hairs than I already have since it was yet another really close game and they definitely didn't look as good as I would have liked. At least we won though.

Sunday was my lovely grandmother's 82nd birthday. Unfortunately she lives in NY so I wasn't able to spend it with her but even more unfortunately she had to celebrate it in the hospital on an all liquid diet so no cake for her. Please keep her in your prayers today as she's having surgery this morning.

It was a gorgeous day out so I spent a little time outside and the rest was spent reading and watching football. My Bengals did not look good this weekend but at least my Jags managed to pull out the win. Congrats to Blake and Storm on their first NFL win! Proud to see some Knights in the NFL having success.

I hope everyone had an amazing weekend and has an even better week. The end of this  week I will be out of town for family issues so I won't be online much so even if I don't get a chance to comment back I promise I'm reading every comment and appreciating the love!

Oh and to help make sure you have a great week I'm participating in a giveaway with 10 other gorgeous ladies! We've teamed up to give one lucky reader a gorgeous Kate Spade watch!

This giveaway will be live from 12:00am EST on October -- through 12:00am on October --. Open to US residents only. All entries are verified. Winner will be contacted via email and has 48 hours to respond and claim prize or a new winner will be randomly chosen by the Rafflecopter.

Happy Monday everyone!

  14. Looks like you had a fun weekend! I still have yet to go tailgating. I never went to a school that had a football team and I feel like as a grad student we don't go to tailgates haha
